It's 8:00 a.m. The Sox game is 11 hours away. I'm already tied up in knots. It seems as if everything is against the Sox right now - decades upon decades of ignominious history, the Twins cupcake schedule down the stretch, people already talking about how this team will be dismantled after the season, etc., etc. But all of that is just background noise. It's all about what happens between the white lines for the next two weeks. No matter what happens, we'll all be talking about these next two weeks for years and years to come. Here's hoping that they make some great memories for us.

I was thinking the same thing. I woke up anxious for the game to begin.

I don't think I've been this anxious for a game in September in my life. Gotta love a pennant race.

Chicago businesses should be shut down right now so Sox fans can concentrate on important things like 10 hours of preparation for the big game.

To be truthful, it's probably going to be all about what happens between those white lines in the next three days--the games in Boston were huge, these are downright humungous. While losing 2 out of three would be a kick in the teeth, being swept would be a killer. On the upside, two out of three gives only the flimsiest of edges--a sweep would be the real leg up on winning this thing. Unfortunately, that seems a little too good to imagine.

Whatever--go Sox!

It's a bit different for me. I'm in Japan so when I wake up the game is on right after coffee. 9:oo am here. My problem is that now I'm all worked up after reading these posts and getting ready for this HUGE series that I CAN'T SLEEP!!!

I think a sweep by either team would give that team a huge edge. A 2-1 series win for either team would give that team a slight edge, but would not be a decisive blow. But it's hard for me to even think about anything other than tonight's game. I'm worked up enough, as it is.

I don't imagine you can actually see the game there, can you? Do you have to rely on the computer updates to keep you apprised of game status?

Hey humansushi, are there any Japanese bad asses playing over there that perhaps the Sox can talk to? I'd love to have a bad ass on our team like Ichiro and Godzilla.

I use MLB gameday audio, as they do not allow mlb.tv to customers in Japan. But every Mariners and Yankees game is broadcasted live along with a few Dodgers games when Ishii or Nomo is on the mound. I have a satellite dish which is great for the NFL,NHL, and NBA, but MLB only broadcasts 1 game a day through they're package.(other than the afore mentioned teams)

Sorry I don't post so much, but am a huge lurker. I really enjoy this site for more info on our Sox. But I'm usually working when the games are on or too tired to type at 2 am for day games. So at work I use audio with headphones and keep this site hidden.haha This coming series with the Yankees though I have taken off so I can watch the games.

There is only 1 left that has the stature of an Ichiro or H. Matsuii. He is a GREAT shortstop that plays for the Seibu Lions by the name of Kazuo, he is a truly gifted defensive player which can also hit for average, .332 this year. It be nice if the Sox picked him up, free agent this year, as I would be able to watch all Sox games live here!

It just doesn't get any better than this. (tm)

I wonder what kind of effect this has on ELo, going for win #20 against the team that denied him the first time. It must be at least a minor distraction...

GO TWINS!

I'm sorry, his name is Kazuo Matsuii. If the Sox did pick him up you could expect a sharp rise in the Sox attendance and overall fan base. The Japanese absolutely love baseball and follow their players religiously. It would be great for the city of Chicago with the number of tourists from Japan going to see him play at the Cell

Ive been as Anxious as Ive ever been since Friday Nite, beginning of the Red Sox series. These next weeks are the proverbial Fork in the Road for the Sox, and this organization.

From here on out every facet of this season is against the Sox. The Sox have the hardest closing schedule of any team in baseball while the Twins coast home against Cleveland and Detroit. I just hope to God that this team pulls together and takes away some of this momentum that the Twins have. That split in Chicago was huge for the Twins. It must be repaid in Minnesota. If the Sox can pull this off, who knows what can happen, but it will be EXTREMELY difficult. It doesn't get much more crucial for an organization than this. Go Sox!

If I can be a total jerk, we are all eager, not anxious, for this game to begin. Damn that English minor!

I love all of your energy guys, don't question that. We may disagree, but it is all about the

SOX

This series is big, of course. A sweep for either team and it's all over, I think. I'm not worried. We are the best. But that puts big pressure on tonight's game. I also don't believe the CLE and DET thing. If they have to, the Sox will take out the Royals and Yanks, and it won't be any more difficult. Let's do this. Just win, baby. We owe Radke and I think the Twins scored a few too many last night. Haha! Konerko is the pick to click (if he plays instead of Dauber, who is like .390 lifetime against Radke).

Go Go Sox!

I really need to stay away from this site until the playoffs begin. I'm eager & anxious and reading this doesn't help, nor the calls I get every afternoon on game day from someone draggin me out to a bar to watch the game.

It's so refreshing to hear that others are feeling the same way. My wife woke up this morning, rolled over and asked me what's the matter. I was staring at the ceiling and had been for some time.

"Sox face the twins tonight." I said. "Don't worry, they'll win" she said.

But what does she know.

I've always found that a good porno and a few minutes of "me time" is a great cure when I cannot sleep.

However, from what I can see, the Japanese have some very strange "erotica". The Germans and the Japanese are very far out there with their sexuality.

are you sure about that? I figure EAGER connotes something positive like I CANT WAIT for them to play, but Im I figure ANXIOUS means im stressed and not willing to find out what happens these next 3 games, because thats how I feel. been totally stressed, not knowing what this teams going to do, what this ORGANIZATIONS going to do after these games (and the real possibility that JR will Call My Bluff and Go Cheap again, and I,after 3 plus decades, decide to Choose Another team to follow)

Hey, when I was at AllStar FanFest, I talked to some japanese fans about this guy. He has almost God-like status and the fans said whatever team he goes to in the MLB, The country will pretty much follow his every step. Kaz (as they called him) is Fast and very special. He could be the perfect guy to put the SOX on the MAP, so to speak. WE would OVERNITE, begin to get ALL THE MEDIA ATTENTION WE WOULD WANT and then some, and the Attention would Translate into $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ (hear that Jerry R.?) We deserve as much attention as that other team gets. ALso, because the ASIAN Community would be head over heels following the guy, did it ever occur to the Sox that ChinaTown, a major asian population just 5 mins North of the park, was nearby? THE SOX DO A TERRIBLE JOB Marketing their players. Theres a HUGE hispanic community, and do they know about ORDONEZ? VALENTIN? ALOMAR? LEE??
