Didn't he throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Sox home opener? Doesn't anybody check these people out?

I like the fact that he isn't wishy-washy about his team.

He did, at which time I believe he claimed to be a sox fan, but I guess he's a Sox fan in the cubs fan "support both teams" kind of way.

What team a politician supports doesn't really bother me one bit, although I do expect Mayor Schultz to be a Joliet Jackhammers fan (which is still inconsequential to me since I live in an unincorporated area).

When did he ever claim to be a Sox fan?
Everything I've always heard about Rod's baseball interests has shown him to be a North Side geek who follows the Cubs.
Just because he threw out a first pitch on Opening Day doesn't mean much. Even the old man Daley, the ultimate political Sox fan, would make Wrigley Field appearances from time to time.

IIRC, on the radio with Rooney and Farmer on Opening Day, he claimed to be a fan of both teams. I'm sure if the state somehow woos the Cards to Illinois, he'll amazingly be a fan of the Cards, the Cubs and the White Sox.
Typical politician crap. No news here, IMO.
For the record, Blagayovich bounced the opening day pitch from 50 feet.

He still would have been able to retire a few of the Tiger hitters that day. (Not taking anything from Esteban's debut win.)

He's a Cub fan, but I think he's a good governor so far.

Another piece on the head geek's cub fan tendencies.

It looks a lot like the AP stole from the Southtown in putting together their piece.

The Southtown contributes to AP. Technically, it isn't stealling.

i think he used to say hes a cub fan but he roots for both teams, but after he was loudly booed at the cell on opening day, hes been all "im a cubs fan all the way! you cant be a fan of both teams!" he was yapping about this with steve and chip when he was on-air after singing at wrigley a few months ago.
