"I'm going to be paying extra attention to the scoreboard tonight."

:maggs

"Why is that, Jerry?"

:jerry

"I need to get Daubach some playing time because he used to play for Boston. But I'll only do that if we're ahead by one run going into the sixth inning. If we're ahead, then the game will already be over, and it won't matter."

Never mind... I'm up and running. ... Farmer interviewing Coop.

Btw... c'mon Sox! How 'bout some wall ball tonight!? You don't have to hit it over the Monster... just dent it a few times.

2 back to back great defensive plays by the Sox (the REAL sox). Great sliding catch by Maggs...

I wish we had him. Wakefield would eat some innings, giving the pen some rest. And Miguel is young... he should be able to catch him.

Am I the only one who's been disappointed in Robbie Alomar's play the last few weeks? He's not getting on base at all anymore, and seems to pop up a ton of pitches.

It's like a 45 record that keeps playing over and over and over and over and over and over...

He better learn how to hit a breaking ball one of these days ... right now he's just embarrassing himself.

Agreed. A significant rally against Wakefield is unlikely for any team ... which is why we need to find ways to have 2- or 1- run innings here and there.

I have a feeling three runs might be enough to win this game ... I feel pretty confident we can get at least one more ... especially as guys adjust a little more to Wakefield's nutty pitches this time around.

I don't think the "critical" comment was even referring to Robbie, but I agree Robbie's been a little cold at the top of the lineup.

That being said, he's good at getting a lot of pitches, which is an important responsibility of the lead-off hitter. Combined with his defense and on-field knowledge, I'm not too disappointed. He's no longer the All-Star he once was, but he seems to bring quite a few intangibles to the team.

Well in baseball terms coming into today, three players have grounded into more DP in baseball. Mags and Lee are tied at 14. It isn't a good thing when three of your four best hitters have hit into over 60 DPs.

Frank's career numbers against Wakefield are pretty dismal, and he does look silly, but it's nothing compared to Olivo. Olivo looks like he's never seen a pitch before when he's out there.

Based on their performance in the actual game itself? Now I know there are more than a few Manuel bashers out there.

BUT is this not hindsight, just a touch at least? Rather hard to blame a guy for hindsight

A stud game from a stud pitcher. At least the Sox won't get swepted!

Pitching wins pennants...not trying to score eight runs a game.

The only downside to Colon's performance the last two months has been that with every win, with every complete game the price of poker goes up for his services next season.

It'll be nice to see him back next year but King George will pay him whatever he asks.

They showed Kenny and Rick Hahn in the crowd (second night in a row). You could almost envision Hahn getting out the Chisox checkbook as Colon finished up that masterpiece.

FWIW, I dig seeing KW and Hahn in the stands right behind the Sox dugout for these big games. Kinda cool to see they are into this as much as we are. It's do or die.
