Warthogs Win Championship!

Tonight the Winston-Salem Warthogs won the Carolina League Championship. They defeated the Lynchburg Hillcats in three straight games. Tonight's score: 3 -2.

It was tremendous!!!

Kris Honel was our starter, and as one of the guys said after the game: "He pitched his heart out."

Josh Fields closed it out and was the series MVP. He saved every game in the series.

The fans in Winston-Salem are elated! It's been 10 long years since we last won the CL championship and this team definately DESERVED to win. We love 'em!!!!!

Great to see teams in the Sox's system doing well. WAY TO GO HOGS!!!

(On a side note, I just wanted to thank NC_Sox_Fan for all the updates on the Hogs and the rest of the farm system all season long. They were always interesting to read, and info I would never have sought out myself. So from one Sox fan to another, thanks NC!)

Seriously, Go Hogs! Nice to see some success in this organization. Hopefully the first of many championships some of those guys will bring to our Sox.
