Wright Starting (1-5, 5.54)

Graffanino, SS
Alomar, R, 2B
Thomas, DH
Ordonez, RF
Lee, LF
Everett, CF
Konerko, 1B
Crede, 3B
Alomar, S, C

Looks like 'Jer is going with a "lets try to win" lineup.

An ecouraging sign considering 1) we won the first 2 games, therefore technically "winning the series" and 2) it's Sunday.

Lets sweep these punks. Lord knows that Texas isn't going to help us any...

I think we'd all have good reason to be livid if JM brought out the JV lineup after two off-days last week ... in addition, a Sox win and a Twins loss would be a big, big help heading into that series tomorrow. We need to do our best to make sure our end holds up.

That's a really small crowd, especially for a Sunday ... it almost looks like a weekday crowd.

I'm starting to think this "no aluminum bats" garbage is really affecting Frank.

Also, I know this subject has been beaten to death, but wouldn't today have been a good day to DH Paulie and put Frank at first if Paulie is really having trouble moving around because of his leg?

1-1 tie in Minnesota

We're facing a rook who we haven't faced before and we've got Danny Wright pitching. I'm not expecting a whole bunch...but I'd like to be surprised.

The middle of our lineup really needs to start picking it up. Minny is giong to be impossible to beat if Frank and Maggs don't get hot really quickly

already looking like corpseball. it just seems like that kind of day for some reason. sunny sunday afternoon, small crowd, perfect day for the sox to play like lazy bums that they often play like on sudnay afternoon games. hawk and DJ already making excuses about why the sox won't be able to hit this pitcher. he is yet another future cy young.

I think Maggs will be fine ... I'm worried about Frank, because he lets things get to his head. If he thinks he's a better hitter with an aluminum bat in batting practice, he'll start overcompensating for it at the plate, and we're seeing the results, especially over the course of this weekend.

You can't call corpseball in the first inning. That is a pathetic weekend crowd, though ... I just hope they don't get discouraged by it; we all know they step it up for big crowds.

DJ interviewing the Lieutenant Governor of Illinois, Pat Quinn... who said he is a lifelong Sox fan.

Why I posted this... I dunno. I'm just glad Danny Wright made it out of the 3rd without giving up any runs.

2-1 Texas ... once again, a team pitched around A-Rod to get to Palmiero, and ended up walking Palmiero trying to get him to swing out of the zone. Will pitchers and managers ever learn?

TDog

The Rangers just grabbed the lead 2-1 over the Twinks on a bases-loaded, two out walk. But Texas had the bases loaded and no one out in the inning with the top of the lineup coming to bat.

Our line-up makes no sense vs lefties. Lee and Everett are brutal vs lefties, while konerko is very good vs them. Therefore, why is Konerko batting behind two easy outs in the order?

Great job by Wunsch. When is the last time the Sox defense stranded a guy at third with nobody out?

Now let's get some runs...

With a decent chance to pick up a much-needed game, our offense needs to cobble together 3 runs in 4 innings.

Leadoff batter on this inning...let's go Sox.

What do you suggest, Viva? We can't leave in Sullivan, and if we pitch Marte or Gordon two-plus innings, they're not available for the first game or two of the Minnesota series.

IMO, we should have left Wunsch in for a few more batters, but hindsight is 20/20 ... we kind of had our hands tied with bringing in Schoenewies. It was better than leaving Sullivan out there.

In this case, it isn't a terrible move ... Schoenewies is much, much better against lefties.

We definitely need to worry about the Royals, especially if they pull within two today ... because if the Sox and Minnesota beat up on each other, KC can sneak right back into immediate striking distance.

I didn't know Jose's average was that low, but I suspected that wasn't a very good pinch hit when it happened.
