Not anymore...
I heard that this is the first time since 1906 that both the Cubs and Sox have been in first place this late in the season.
I'm not sure, but I also think it's the first time both teams have been in first place at the same time this season.

Another anomoly ... Anyone know the last time the Sox were in a first place tie in September? Sometime in the 1960s perhaps? We ran away with it in 2000, 1993 was never all that close and 1983 was a joke after July. All other years in recent memory we were never serious threats.
I'm not used to this nervewracking closeness. :)

No kidding - I'm a friggin' basket case. Not that I'm complaining - this is about as exciting as it gets.
