2B- Graffanino
LF- Lee
DH- Thomas
RF- Ordonez
1B- Konerko
CF- Everett
3B- Crede
SS- Valentin
C- Olivo

Another "Southpaw Wrecking Crew" lineup. I'm predicting no more than five runs.

.... to realize that the game is on FOX where I'm at. In fact, I turned the TV on in time to listen to FOX's lead-in song, "The Boys of Summer" (covered by The Ataris)... even heard the ad-lib line "I saw a Black Flag sticker on a Cadillac".

I find this as a good omen.

Nice, Olivo. You'd think someone batting .226 would try to be a little more agressive at the plate. Meanwhile he watches strikes 2 and 3 right down the middle.

Having Olivo in our lineup (batting) is like having our pitcher in the 9 spot.

Carlos is doing it all today. Second SB (#16), second hit. Must be trying to be a 20-20 guy this season?

Frank has been brutal at the plate the past few days. Maybe they should let him use the aluminum bat again.

I can't even watch the National telecast of this game!!! It seems that the Evansville (southern hickville indiana) seems to think that a rerun of the "Andy Griffith Show" is more important and can override the national showing of the sox game. What a way to ruin my Saturday and add to my disliking of Evansville even more.

C Lee 2 for 2, 1 RBI, 1 Run scored and now a SB. He really is playing up to what we have expected out of him. Even his "D"efence is showing spark. He has been a big part of our team this year and hopefully we can ink him to a long term deal soon.

Of course, this being a national telecast, I can't even watch the [real] Sox game in MLBTV.

No worries. Sox still have the lead, and we have ELo on the hill.

But, I'll say it now: we WILL need some insurance runs.

When they performed it live at the All-Star game (or the HR derby, I forget which), the line became "I saw a White Sox sticker on a Cadillac." The singer muffed the line, and it sounded like "White Stocks Sticker," but oh well, nobody's perfect.

Is it my imagination, or have people become stupider in the past few years? Throwing back home run balls is one of the stupidest practices for a baseball fan to be involved in.

They just showed an updated on Fox...gotta feel sorry for the Yankees, don't you? I have to say, I'm surprised the BoSox are making it interesting.

Speaking of "interesting," I hope the Sox offense doesn't keep this just a 1-run game.

Here is the reason for their selection of programing for Fox 7:

1. Evansville is considered part of the "Cardinals region," so Fox typically shows their games when the opportunity arises.

2. There is a Cardinals-Reds game scheduled for 3:10 CDT. I am willing to bet that the morons at WTVW show that game instead of the Sox game.

Again, I'm sorry your day was ruined, and I'm glad I'm not in Evansville during the school year.

I'm thinking Clemens might be retiring just in time. 7-0 Boston. Clemens is done.

As far as we are concerned, if we can't score any insurance runs, we're gonna need the bullpen to help us. Esteban with 51 pitches already in the 4th.

As time goes by, I'm hoping more and more that the Sox will face the Yankees in the first round of the playoffs. As bad as their pitching staff has performed over the past month, I think the Sox could beat them.

Hmm, Esteban's worst start (or one of 'em) of the year coming on a day when Minny and KC are winning...not good timing.

Can the Sox offense save the day?

wow. This is what I was going to post in the top of the second, but didn't want to jinx things. I'm still glad I didn't...

So basically, already given a 4-run lead, Loaiza would have to have one of his worst outings of the year against a crap team to not win #19. I like our odds already...

The ump's strike zone is now pretty bad -- Everett should have been punched out one pitch earlier than he was, and Daubach just had 2 balls called strikes to end the inning, which kills a potential Sox rally.

Konerko is up now. He will either...

1. Hit down the rightfield line, scoring two runs.

Or...

2. Hit a weak grounder to shortstop, ending the inning.

cheeses_h_rice

Hate to be too dramatic here, but...this at-bat I think will define the remainder of the season.

If the Sox can take and hold the lead, we'll keep pace with the Twins for first, stay ahead of KC no matter what, and give ELo his 19th W.

This is HUGE. C'mon Konerko -- all's we need is a single.

The ball was fielded cleanly before it reached the wall, so Alomar was not able to score.

Wow, today is the first game in a while where a break went their way -- Konerko's "single" could have so easily been a groundout on any other day.
