At first, the injury to Maggs was reported to be an injured index finger, but then I read that Maggs actually suffered from an over-extended left wrist. The good news was that there was no fracture and he is listed as day to day. At first, I was relieved, but then, the worry-wort Sox fan in me though about when I hurt my wrist and how long it took to heal 100%. Given that Maggs is more of a hand and wrist hitter, I worry that this will be one of those nagging injuries that will affect him the remainder of the season. Am I wrong? I hope so.

This quote from MLB.com:

"It's a little sore, but it will be ok," Ordonez said. "It's a little swollen, but I should be ready tomorrow ."

Very good news ... and besides ... that's the Flub staff that likes to say "day-to-day" and really mean "day 20-to-day 30" or "out for the season." If Herm Schneider says day-to-day, I believe it.

Thomas was day-to-day in 2001 and a week later he was out for the season ...
