The story then noted how it moved the Royals "percentage point" ahead of the Sox.

Directly below were the standings that showed the Sox with a winning percentage of .530 and the Royals with a winning percentage of--surprise--.530.

Those special data reading skills are extra sharp at the gothic towers today.

I think that's being a bit picky.

KC is 70-62, for a winning percentage of .5303
Sox are 71-63, for a winning percentage of .5298

The Royals are in 1st place, the Sox in 2nd. Maybe not by a full percentage point, but enough of a difference to point this out.

The Sox are a full-game in back of Kansas City in the loss column. From now till the end of September, that is the only column worth watching.

I suggest forgetting about the percentages. It will only drive you crazy. Not that Sox Fans are prone to that or anything. :smile:
