There is some serious corpseball going on in KC from both teams.
Rain delay at Kaufmann ... Royals still lead 1-0.

rain delay and this one could be a KC winner if it doesnt stop :(:
On the radar, it looks like it might be a pretty big line of storms which will either take 90+ mins to pass or cause the game to end

It's shaping up to be a very bad baseball day for Sox fans.
Sox lose
Twins win
KC winning
Flubs winning
Astros losing.
All the wrong teams are winning today.

I'm with you. Jerry can't blow a game every day like he did today. And I still feel like the bottom line is that the Sox are simply better than the Twins and the Royals.
is anyone afraid of the Yankees coming to town? not anymore. I can't wait to pound Boston, Cleveland and then sharpen the utensils to feast on some more of that Yankee pitching.
Screw you Jerry, we'll win it despite your best efforts.

The best thing about this game, is that the Royals are draining their pen. We only used Dan Wright and Marte today.
The Rangers announcers are even saying the Royals used a lot of pen, and don't have much left to use. The Rangers have their whole pen.

I am confident we can do well in Detroit. We owe them a butt-kicking. In the mean time KC is winning sloppy and that will only go so far.

I agree ... I think KC will falter against Anaheim ... KC's bullpen is shot, and they don't even know who's starting after Friday. I also think we'll do well against Detroit. Buehrle, Garland, Loaiza? Hell, we don't deserve to win the division if we can't beat the Tigers with those three.
That being said, having not gained ANYTHING in the standings despite two great wins, it was unacceptable to treat today's game like it didn't matter by trotting Cotts out there. Now, we allowed KC to gain a game on a walk-off hit in extra innings. Had they done it and not gained any ground because of our win today, it would have been hard to call it "momentum." They are in first place now (actually ahead of us by percentage points). Who knows if they can carry this over?
We might be screwed ... I doubt it, but there is just no telling with this KC team.

Say what you want about the Royals but the SOB's keep throwing pitchers out there like Lima, Abbott, Anderson, Appier and they do WELL until they get hurt...then they throw out some MORE pitchers that they've just picked up and THEY do well.
Unfriggin believeable!!!!!
By the way Phil Rogers reports tonight in the Tribune the Sox 5th starters this year have a 3-10 record with a 6.77 ERA .
It's shades of 1996 all over again and we saw how that year ended didn't we!
Again unfriggin believeable. I'm getting sick to my damn stomach.

You aren't going to claim that because the 5th starter sucks the team will finish the same way are you? Come on Lip this team is head and shoulders above that 96 squad in terms of both pitching AND hitting.
At best it is an oversimplification.
