I heard Hawk mention that the Sox lead the AL in quality starts with 79. Oakland is second with 75.

Well think of how many times earlier in the season Buehrle was victim to unearned runs and Rick White piling on. Garland has lost one or two 2-1 or 1-0 games. We've had great starting pitching for the most part and with a more solid bullpen all we need is consistent offense to be successful.

Just think how many quality starts we'd have if we'd gotten some out of our 5th starter. I don't think we've got more than 1 or 2 quality starts out of Wright and 0 out of everyone else starting behind Garland.

As I have posted before. We were 6-6 in games Wright started. He had 5 official quality starts in those 12 starts. Stewart actually had 2 or 3 when he was up at the begining of the season and we are 2-1 in Cotts starts - one of those was an official QS.

I wonder what the sox' record is when the starter pitches a quality start

Hard to believe it, but twice, not once, but twice...

Loaiza has lost to the Tigers, 1-0.

Now, that is absolutely horrible.

Yeah how is he? I heard he was still pretty shaken about taking a comebacker to the chest IIRC? I hope he's ok. I think anyone would need a lot of guts to take the mound after something like that.
