3 men LOB in the first, but the Sox still get 2 out of it.

Part of me wishes Graffy was still playing.

man, Colon is on fire. He is unhittable, unless you go up there with an oar, and STILL he hits a homer. Then so does mr sandbergs wife

Sox livin' by the long ball yet again, but whatever, I'll take it.

Nice woodwork, Joe!

Updates:

Twins 3, Royals 3

Astros 8, Flubs 1 (Carrie Wood strikes again!)...but Rick White is now pitching for the Astros, so watch that "1" increase.

Is that umpire that just called out Frank the same one who missed Crede's home run in the beginning of the year?

From people I talked to, who have some inside knowledge to what this "Knock your socks off trade" almost was, it would of been jaw dropping!

Wish people would kill with the sarcasm with it.

It's 5-3 now. Manuel is still asleep. Should we wake him up or not?

Should have been done earlier. On Carols first at bat, he messed up his shoulder on a non swing.

I love Crede's crew.

Willie Harris just pinch-ran for him, and Everett appeared to be in visible pain while swinging. How did he mess up his left shoulder? Anyone know how serious this is?

Konerko is 0-4 tonight. He has started to suck again. I'd say it's about time for Jerry Manuel to... PUT FRANK AT FIRST!

Everitt hurt his shoulder earlier on a swing. Paulie is back to double play ville. Somebody wake up JM at tell him that Dalbach can play more than one game in a row. Way to go JOE!!! :gulp:

Crede is on fire. I wonder if this is going to a repeat of the end of last season for him. The Sox could use a hot bat at the bottom of the order.

This "Carol" you speak of...any relation to famed North Side pitcher Carrie Wood?

BIG 2 out triple drives in 2. Joe C seems to have finally "found it" for this year. Hopefully he rampages the rest of the season. The SOX really need his big stick.

Twins 4, Royals 3, bottom of the 8th.

I kind of want the Royals to win this one, but whatever. The Sox could hold 1st place all by their lonesome after tonight!

If the Sox somehow win the World Series, Manuel will probably sleep through the entire post-game celebration.

"If you come to the park, I will wake him up." I agree wholeheartedly. The time is NOW, and leave him there. There are plenty of DH's on this team. Starting with Daubach and even Jo-V, who has really played well at SS since R. Alomar came aboard.

Twins win 4-3, so the Sox are now tied with the Twins (with a percentage point or two in the Sox's favor) and .5 games ahead of the Royals.

3 more outs and 1st place is ours by ourselves.

I like our chances with Gordon, Wunsch and Marte right now. Yes I saw, and he was. I just get the feeling when KW gets his control right, ball comes out of a weird angle, tough on lefties, dumbo like ears, can get righties out Not yet but in the future.

I didn't read the entire thread...but I was at the game.

I just need to get this off my chest now...I LOVE Roberto Alomar. Not in a gooey man-love sort of way, but in a kick-butt middle IF sort of way. The double play he turned in the middle of the game was absolutely fantastic. He got to a ball that Jimenez would have watched roll into RF. The made a reverse pivot and fired a strike to Jose in the perfect spot so Jose could come across the bag and get the ball to 1st in time.

Chicago hasn't had a middle IF like that since Sandberg. I am a big Robbie Alomar fan and I hope we find a way to resign him for next season. He stabilizes the top of the order, plays smart ball, sacrifices, bunts, hits behind runners and is one of the best defensive IFs the Sox have ever had.

Go Robbie!
