Lead-off single by Chone Figgins. I like this kid. The Sox could use someone like him.

RKMeibalane
08-19-2003, 08:14 PM
It looks like he would fit in nicely, too. He just got doubled off of first.

RKMeibalane
08-19-2003, 08:15 PM
Nothing in the first for Anaheim, and the Sox are coming to bat.

RKMeibalane
08-19-2003, 08:18 PM
Somebody needs to tell Carlos Lee that it's okay to work the count every so often. Good grief!

RKMeibalane

The Sox get nothing in the first. Stay turned...

Garland has done it again. Two on, none out.

Single by Everett. Runners at first and second with nobody out. Konerko at the plate.

Why do we continue to play Konerko vs tough righties? He makes it impossible for the Sox to execute in different situations.

I take it the Sox didn't watch tape of the last time they faced Shields. He continues to throw first pitch fastball for a strike, and we continue to take it.

RKMeibalane
08-19-2003, 08:43 PM
****! ****! ****! This team is awful when it comes to executing with men on base. The bottom of the order has been dreadful recently.

Lead-off single by Frank. Let's go Sox!

I'm not watching, so I didn't see what happened. Was Frank not paying attention?

balboner
08-19-2003, 09:17 PM
He either got a bad jump, or was just too timid rounding 2nd. It was a soft liner to left center that clearly was dropping.

He probably should have made it then. That's dissapointing, especially becuase he should know better. Having said that, I still don't understand why Everett was bunting. That made no sense.

RKMeibalane
08-19-2003, 09:20 PM
The Sox have the lead-off man on again. They'd better not screw it up.

balboner
08-19-2003, 09:20 PM
Yes, having Everett bunt in that situation was dumb even by Manuel's standards. Also, someone should tell Jerry that Tony G. hits under .200 vs righties.

I don't know ... it would have been really close, and I think Frank was trying to avoid making the first out at third.

Not that it didn't happen anyway.

I know, but I hope it was a mistake by Hawk and it's 32K ... they sound pretty loud. I can't believe on a nice summer half-price night in the middle of the pennant race that only 22K would show up. Ugh ... I hate to think what they'll draw tomorrow.

Hoping for Daubach to PH, Burke to go in to catch. I'm guessing not though.
