I particularly liked this part:

Apparently, Manager Manuel has taken the lampshade off his head, as he has lived through several embarrassing moments this season, the latest being the just concluded trip.

"It was a bad trip," said Manuel after the third straight loss to Texas. "We didn't play well. The good thing is that we're still just three games back with thirty seven games to play.”

That’s loser talk; plain and simple; counting the games remaining like some well-worn security blanket. The grim reality is teams like the White Sox play out the string then pack their grip, wondering where the promising season went. Evidently the disappointing Paul Konerko has picked up the mantra.

"No one's going to win this division in August,” opined Konerko.

Perhaps nobody will win it Pauly. MLB should make like a merciful referee, taking pity on these three punch drunk palookas, calling it a draw.

Mammoo this is one of your better entries!
