It's a long article but obviously read the part about the worst switch hitters these days. Guess which team 3 of them are on?

This is exactly what I brought up in the recent "jeremy poll" thread... I have never seen such brutal switch hitters as Valentin and Everett, and of course we have them both... Particularly Valentin, I have NO IDEA why he doesn't just go lefty all the time. Usually, I love the idea of having switchies in the lineup, but not in the case of the Sox.

IIRC, Valentin has said that he doesn't even practice hitting right-handed, since he does it so infrequently. As the author correctly notes, "If he hasn't learned it by now, he never will, so he might as well stop throwing away at-bats."

I really don't see why Valentin insists on being a sad excuse for a switch hitter. Apparently, it's some kind of status thing. At least Everett occassionally goes lefty-lefty.
