JOE BREAD & WATER on the White Sox?? I can't help but be excited about this one! Seriously, is this a move to shore up the Charlotte Knights pen or are we going to see him in a Sox uni soon?

How did he get the nickname "bread and water"?

Stupid me. Just looked at his last name. Translates to "bread and water" roughly in Spanish.

That might mean your enunciation is off.

SPRINGFIELD - What are the immediate plans for Jose Paniagua? Fifth starter? Bullpen? Charlotte?

I really hope it's Charlotte given how bad he was last year.

I was thinking more along the terms of popcorn vendor.

My linguistic abilities are extremely limited, I can assure you. However, I can get my face slapped in Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Greek, Icelandic, and... almost forgot, English! :D:

Not bad. I'm sure I could get my face slapped in any country that speaks any of those languages and I wouldn't have to say a word.

Every little bit helps. He had some outstanding years with Seattle and is worth at least a shot.

Hell he can't be worse then Danny "I Can't Pitch" Wright, Mike Porzio and the rest of those stiffs.

I'd say that a majority of us who will bad mouth this move likely did the same when we signed some guy named Loaiza prior to Spring Training.

It can't hurt.

This might be a good thing right now to make this move.
Gives the SOX time to analyze (I love it when you analyze DJ)
him and see if he can get people out before they have to set their Rosters by Sept 1. ........(god willing)

They've done well on signings-got to trust them on this one. Any outs he can get helps.

I think he is going to be used as a run giving up specialist a la Billy Koch. We need more of this in the White Sox bullpen. Where's Matt Karchner when you need him?
