Swinganamiss...strike 3. This Oakland pitcher is pretty good, but how can we tell? The Sox have left too many runners on base before. Now we'll see how Este does.

Harden made Everett look extremely foolish. However, the one good thing that came out of that inning was that he had to throw a lot of pitches. The sooner his pitch count baloons, the sooner he'll be out of the game.

Big plate and tough pitchers. Get the bats off your shoulders today.

I gotta feelin' this will be a close game. As long as Loaiza keeps his stuff in good shape, then the Sox can get to Harden. Harden's looking good, but I think he's breakable. Maybe not in the first couple of innings, but we'll get to him.

RKMeibalane
08-10-2003, 01:42 PM
Harden breezed through that inning. It looks like guys are still swinging for the fences. Konerko should have taken another couple of pitches.

A pitcher the sox have never seen before. It is going to be hard for me not to get mad.

Early on, this looks like a game that could remain scoreless as long as the starters stay in the game.

Swing as hard as you can, you might hit it! :D:

First team to score today wins. At least that's the way it's looking now. Of course, Loaiza will have to go the whole way if we expect a shutout.

Just tuned in this inning. Man, both pitchers look awesome today. Anyone know how hard this Harden kid throws?

OKCSoxFan

Highest FB I've seen is 97. They said he hits 88-97 all over the place. Not bad.

RKMeibalane
08-10-2003, 01:53 PM
Sox hitters need to lay off that high fastball. Nobody's been able to hit it. Harden has a lot of talent, but he's not experienced. If the hitters are more patient, they'll get to him.

Thanks a lot, Detroit!

Konerko can't stretch enough to field that throw from Alomar. Should we add this to the list of things Frank does better when he plays first base? Or does the 3-6-3 double-play trump any offensive or defensive superiority? Firstbasemen use their throwing arms so often, you know.

The big man is a BIG target when he plays first base.

PHG, who is that in the photograph with the fans sitting at the counter? Is it you?

That is an AP photo taken inside an unidentified Bridgeport tavern back in 2000 during Game 3 of the ALDS. The Sox of course were losing. I have no idea who the suffering Sox Fans are.

I thought it captured the essence of the emotions Sox Fans go through on a year after year basis. That's how it became a tag.

3-0 Sox thanks to Paulie's big blast to left.

We're just about 8 runs away from being able to bring in Billy Koch now...

He doesn't hit as well from the right side, so he decided to bat left-handed.

Jalen rose just called for the fans to throw the HR ball back! Boooo! But he seems like a person who actually follows the White Sox so it's alright

No, he just does that against some LHP. It isn't the first time I've seen him do it.

The handrail of the Bullpen Sports Bar sent it back onto the playing field, at least initially. Jalen did sound pretty into the Sox, so that's cool.

Didn't Jalen Rose once sing TMOTTBG at the Urinal once? If so, he really needs to be mindful of the differences between the north and the South.

Based on that sad excuse for an RBI, I would say it's the Sox's day today.

Looks like Guillen got hurt, though -- too bad.

what happened. MLB.com just says Crede singles and Konerko scores. How could Konerko of all people possibly score from 1st on a single????

He was running on the pitch and the ball was a well placed popup that bounced away from the three converging fielders. The only guy who could have made the play (2B) was covering the base on the steal attempt...

Crede hit a blooper to shallow center, and there was a three car pile up. As the ball rolled away, PK scored.

Excellent job, Sox! Especialy Loaiza, who is the sole reason the Sox are even still in this race.

We had to keep pace, and we did. Still just .5 back of KC despite the "brutal schedule."

winning 2/3 from the A's is HUGE in my book, i was really worried we'd lose this series like last weekend's... i was optimistic, but worried.

we can play with the big guys, the only team that scares me in our upcoming schedule is Boston, they're fighting for the East or Wild card, they'll be playing hard.
nobody else worries me much.... sure we'll lose a series or two, but i feel really good after taking today's game, our top 3 starters have been brilliant this past week.

Considering the Sox played the A's while the Royals played the Devil Rays I'm very thankful the Sox are only a half game out.

It could have been much, much worse.

I'm glad to see the Sox stay right with KC. This is a huge series as far as serving notice that that Sox can actually beat the real solid teams out there. Keep it up Sox, take the Anaheim series!

GO SOX!
