what's the deal with runners not even attempting to run to first these days?
i've noticed paulie doing it a bit more lately, but the A's players all seem lazy on infield hits, guillen made no attempt whatsoever a few innings back.
Especially the way Paulie handled the ball in the first, might as well make the attempt...

but it's called respect for the game.

Fisk would have never let this crap happen without giving an earfull.

I know what you mean. That pisses me off so much. If the guy actually ran to first, the fielder might hurry and make a bad throw. Ive seen it too many times where the guy wouldve been safe if only he had ran.
