OK, so he doesn't exactly mention the White Sox by name. But a manager who knows baseball and is sure to put fans in the seats. Plus, the Sox haven't exactly backed away from controversial players lately (Belle, Wells, R. Alomar, Everett).

Can it happen???

Giving the keys to a franchise once known as the Black Sox to a compulsive gambler who spent time in the federal pen for tax evasion is certain to keep the Sox from EVER winning another series. The feds just dug up bones next to a parking lot at the Cell, reportedly those of a man tied to organized crime. Don't the Sox have enough problems than to invite ANOTHER controversey.

Call it fate, call it luck, call it karma. It would be BAD. They shouldn't touch him with a ten-meter cattle prod.

(For a :gulp: , name the source of these very slightly altered quotes).

The Hit King belongs in the Hall.

He does not belong at 35th and Shields in any capacity whatsoever.
