I kind of liked the Cardiac Kids from that one thread title.

The 2000 team never really got a name that stuck either. I know I thought "Jerry's Kids" was pretty funny, but it didn't necessarily have a positive connotation. I guess it was "The Kids Can Play," but that was less of a nickname than a marketing slogan.

Its hard to label this team because I don't think they have had their defining moment yet. I think that one will occur but its hard to predict these kinds of things.

This team reminds me so much of the 83' team...second half bloomers.

You got the Big Hurt who is 83's Fisk...

Cologne, Buehrle and Loaiza is Hoyt, Dotson and Bannister

Ordonez = Luzinski

Lee puts up similar stats to Kittle

Almomar the switch hitting Cruz

Crede is Law...good with the glove and shaky with the stick

Harris the speedster Law.

The only glaring difference is Manuel and Larussa. At least Tony went with an everyday line up that would be pretty much the same every day.

I second that. Someone send that to Teddy Greenstein and have him put that in his Sox Notes that we have dubbed them the Yo Yo Sox.

Me likee "Yo-Yo Sox"--that sums up the team and the season perfectly.

Yo-yo Sox gets my vote too. Now let's just win this thing so we have a reason to remember it.

Somebody in another thread came up with "The Spite Sox," which merits consideration, IMO... though "Yo-Yo Sox" isn't bad :)

I thought of playing with the words of that "Tinker" line once, something along the lines of "With Tinkerer's Endeavors, No Chance..."

but as the original refers to Cub infielders, I declined.

The Tinkerees.

This team hasn't had its defining moment yet. In fact, they haven't even reached first place yet. I don't recall the '00 team ever having a nickname that really came to define them. There are still a few names I recall...

Jerry's Kids
Fight Sox
White Hot Sox

None of them ever really caught on.

If the '03 Sox reach the playoffs, and do something for a change, I think our little dancing friend would make an adorable mascot.

Weren't they "The Fight Sox"?

yeah i'd always assumed 2000 was the fight sox.

2003 seems to be the 20th anniversary of winnin' ugly imo.
