MLB.com's GameDay is what I like to use. Go to MLB.com, and on the homepage is a scoreboard. Click on the GameDay link next to the Sox score, and it'll pop up and do real time pitch-by-pitch reporting.

Why is Crede so bad? We rip into Koch and Everett and what not, but man has he been struggling all year. 0-3 today -- ya ya, he is hitting .281 since the break, but it is just like last year when he will turn it on when the September call-ups occur.

kempsted

Colon is cruising. A 1-2-3 7th. I think you could almost play the game without an infield when Colon pitches. Everything is either a strike out or a fly out to the outfield.

No question Crede has been absolutely brutal at the plate all year long; when he comes up with runners on and 2 outs, you know the inning is over - he's the worst rally killer on the team. But with that said, if the rest of the offense (i.e., Alomar, Lee, Frank, Maggs, PK, Valentin and Everett) hit like they're capable of hitting, the overall offense will still be plenty good enough, even if Crede (and Olivo) continue to struggle (although, it seems to me -although I haven't looked up the stats - that Olivo is much more reliable in clutch situations than Crede). Plus, there is reason to believe (based upon his track record in the minors and last year) that he will be a good hitter eventually - sometimes it just takes a young hitter a while to get it going (see Blalock, Hank, Ventura, Robin or Sandberg, Ryne for examples). Hell, if he hits for the rest of the year like he did at the end of last year, I'll be absolutely thrilled.

For what it is worth:
Miguel has hit .357 over last 7 games and .291 over last 17
Crede has hit .364 on the road trip and .279 over the last 17
Not sure what their hitting with runners in scoring position is but I seem to remember Olivo's being at like 300 something for the year.

Carl is simply not that good against left handed pitching. When I get a moment I'm going to compare his stats against lefties to Rowand's stats against lefties. I'd be surprised if Rowand's aren't better.

I think he should be asked if he wants to finish. Wouldn't want to grind open a blister if I didn't have to... don't want to cheat him out of a complete game if he's been pitching well either.

Sure - the game in which he got hammered in the 8th (which were caught) then durham led off the 9th with another shot. I'm just happy Manuel didn't bring Marte in for the 8th then stick Flash out there - we would have probably had to pitch Ginter or leave flash out there.
