It's the same lineup. Manuel seems to be doing most of his tinkering at the end of games now, as opposed to tinkering with the lineup.

Carl is fine on balls hit behind him. I've seen him make some great grabs...one in TB and a couple at the Cell. The problem is he cannot get a read on a shallowly hit ball to save his life.

Paulie was a little suspect on D last night too, let some balls through that weren't really easy plays, but were makable plays, and they led to some big runs. Personally I'd like to see Frank out there a little bit...

That was simply a bad throw by Loaiza and PK just couldn't pick it. That is not PK's fault.

However, his defense has been subpar as of late. It's always nice to have a smooth fielding 1B and PK, though he has shown he can field okay, has made Jerry look pretty stupid. Too bad Jerry doesn't realize this. Well, maybe he does. But, PK is bringing minimally more than Frank at 1B right now, so put in Hurt, Jerry!

I don't think he is, but with the way he's done so well against the hitters, that might be annoying. I think it's even more irritating if you're on the opposite team, because he always has a relaxed attitude, he doesn't look tense and he doesn't show emotion. He gets a guy to ground out or strikes someone out, and goes on to the next batter.

E-Lo is stone-cold on the mound and I can see how some people on the opposition can think of him as frustrating simply by the way he goes about it. You know, like it's nothing to get you out.

I find it funny. More so, I love it.

No, SouthBend, he wasn't supposed to leave Kelly in there forever, but come on...he struck out all 5 men he faced. At least let him screw up to one guy before pulling him. I don't care if he pitched 1 2/3 last night. He was hot and should have had enough for another guy. Manuel put Koch in one of those "situational" spots to try to boost his confidence.

I think Hawk said it best a few weeks ago in one of his few anti-organization comments when he said something like "It's about time we just get serious and stop worrying about hurting people's feelings."

Apparently, JM disagrees.

I agree. The Sox have a great chance to make an impact this season and send shockwaves throughout Major League Baseball. But first they need to win, and win consistently. That means putting guys out there who can get the job done on a daily basis.

I would love to see Billy Koch re-discover his fastball, but unless that happens, he shouldn't be out there in games like this. I know he feels bad about what's happened this year, but that's not a reason to risk using him in a game where first place hangs in the balance. The sooner Manuel understands this, the better off things will be for all of us.

Another word for it is called "playoff pressure." Better get used to it Crede.

Well I guess it's the split squad spring training lineup tomorrow! Remember it's a day game after a night game and our guys are soooooooo tired! LOL

Better win tomorrow cause Oakland's coming in while the Royals go to Tampa. We might need that one game gain in the standings before the weekend is out.

And the Royals don't quit because the Sox keep giving them chances!

A few thoughts.

With the Sox defense at the corner positions of the infield performing like little leaguers, I think it's time Graffanino gets a start at third and Frank gets a start at first.

And Frank's extends through the rest of the season.

I hope Olivo is doing all right, because that was a nasty spill.

The bullpen did all right. Koch was throwing well but Magglio couldn't help him out on a tough play. Marte was throwing so hard, his control was off.

Robbie continues to impress and Carl is still a defensive liability.

All in all, a win is a win. However, this team needs to sharpen their skills if they want to compete against the big boys.

Go, White Sox!
