Rob: To paraphrase the Hawk . . . "You can stick a fork in the Royals . . . YESSS!"

I've always really liked Rob Neyer. He's a Royals fan, sure, but unlike some other ESPN writers, he doesn't let his personal feelings cloud everything he writes, and when he's wrong, he admits it.

What makes you think Neyer is a Royals fan?

If you've followed Rob Neyer the past few years, he makes no qualms about his loyalty to the Royals. He is a HUGE Royals fan.

Ditto. He even writes about the Royals daily on his website.

From the same story:

The White Sox have six games left against the Yankees, as do the Royals. But the White Sox also have five games left against a Red Sox team that might be the most intimidating team in baseball right now. The Royals have none.

That's 17 games the White Sox have remaining against other potential playoff teams, compared to six for KC. By comparison, the White Sox have just six games left against Detroit and Cleveland combined. The Royals have 13.

Even if the Royals give up first place between now and Labor Day, they've got a good shot at making up ground in September. The Royals and White Sox meet seven times head-to-head in the last 20 games of the season. But in the other 13 games, the Royals play Detroit and Cleveland exclusively. The White Sox? They play Boston, New York, and Minnesota.

So don't throw in the towel yet, my friend. This ain't over by a long shot,

Lip
