... The Big Hurt's chance at Cooperstown. Said that if Frank retires now, he doesn't think he'd be a Hall of Famer, but doesn't outright say he doesn't deserve it.

how many votes did black jack get? 0 or 2? something like that?...

i'm sorry, i don't mean to trivialize his career or say he doesn't have any clue if frank will make the hall, but why does it matter what he says about frank's chances compared to what joe blow from columbus, ohio says?

Career average - .312

HRs...400

Is that HOF numbers for a guy who can't say his career was cut short by injury? No...I don't think so. I love Frank, don't get me wrong, but think he needs 500 HRs to get in the HOF.

For the better part of ten years, Frank was the best right handed hitter in baseball. He has two MVP's and came close to a third. Frank has to keep on trucking and time will prove he belongs in the hall. However, if the Sox win a series or if Frank gets to 500 - he is in automatically on the first ballot.

A more interesting arguement is Griffey...

Not to mention, the rumor is the triceps injury Thomas had takes 2 full years to recover. Makes sense, cosidering 2 years was about 3 months ago.

Also yesterday I read an intersting all time list

All time highest OBP
1. Ted Williams .482
2. Babe Ruth ..474
3. John McGraw .465
4. Billy Hamilton .455
5. Lou Gehrig .447
6. Bill Joyce .435
7. Rogers Hornsby .434
8. Ty Cobb .433
9. Barry Bonds .431
10. Frank Thomas .430

So big frank is 10th overall of ALL TIME from OBP. Look at those names. Not bad company. I'll take Frank to the HOF
