He's pitching this afternoon vs. St. Louis. He's currently winning 2-0 in the top of the 2nd. He's batting .300 this season and had a nice single against Tomko.

Sidney Ponson may be out of our league because Atlanta is really interested, and they may have more to offer from a monitary standpoint. Suppan may be our man, and I bet you Williams is watching him right now.

If Suppan's pitching today, that would make him available for Game 2 of the Seattle series... makes sense to me... otherwise, who would we be pitching in Seattle between Colon and Buehrle??

"You say he's batting .300? I like him already. Just think of the tinkering. He could pinch hit for us. Heck, I could play him in the field on his days off."

Back a few days early eh Pudge? Not quite August yet...

All the same, good to see you again, and as you said in your last post, when you returned, the Sox were indeed a few games over .500

Keep it up Sox! :gulp:

6 innings complete for Suppan. He's winning 3-0 over the Cardinals. He has 3Ks, and has given up 5 hits.

Suppan will be pricey if we go after him. He only makes $500,000 so he won't be much of a salary dump for the Pirates. The Pirates will likely want a decent prospect(s) for him. It smells like a Ritchie Part II.

They can't ask for much in return. Only 500K and if we'd pay it then how much would we have to give up talentwise? Not much I'd think. He ended up winning. His 10th win IIRC (10-7?).

Yup, I figured three weeks was enough. I almost made it to August! Maybe I should have stayed away longer.... hmmm...

Suppan with a complete game shutout over St. Louis. 7 hits, no runs.
