Ginter brought up. I still want the Sox to find a veteran starter.

Or bring Felix Diaz or Brian Cooper up.

Like bringing Ginter up gives the bullpen more flexibility since they won't be needing the fifth starter until the end of the week. As far as who that fifth starter will be, I'm thinking Suppan or Wright.

This is a good move. Ginter can pick up some of those innings that White and Gordon have been working lately, and it would allow Marte to have a lighter workload, as well.

I agree. The Sox needed a guy they could rely on for long relief anyway. Ginter may be that man. This may also be the first step toward returning Glover to a starting role. I don't know if I like that idea or not, but he may be the best option the Sox have barring a trade. It will be interesting to see if this new 3/4 style delivery of his will make him more effective as a starter. He is definitely getting it together as a reliever these past few weeks and has gotten some meaningful innings as a result. He certainly has the arm strength to start, but will have to be worked back into it slowly as he hasn't pitched many innings this year.

If nothing else, Ginter has been effective out of the pen for the Sox in the past, hopefully that will continue. The return of Wunsch at least gives the Sox 4 guys they can count on in short relief and takes Marte out of the lefty specialist role allowing him play setup/closer in connection with Gordon.

Short relief isn't the primary concern of the team at the moment, but they will need to figure out that 5th starters spot eventually.

With respect Willie, the Sox in the middle of a divisional title chase DON'T need more "no names" trying to lead them to the promised land.

If they won't get someone worth a damn I'd rather they bring back Wright. At least he knows where the dugout is in Comiskey Park (if not much else.)

Re: diaz, cooper, cotts, or other minor leaguers for the 5th starter spot... Don't do it!

Right in the middle of a huge race for our division (and hopefully more), we don't want a bunch of minor leaguers who haven't seen the light of the majors up here. Yes, there have been people who have suceeded immensely, but the majority have failed (anyone remember Scott Ruffcorn?). We want someone in the starting rotation who we know will get the job done.

I personally think that KW has something up his sleeve. When I first heard Porzio was sent down, I figured Wright would come back up and resume the fifth starter spot. However, I don't think the Sox will start 2-pitch Ginter, and Glover is not going to come out of the bullpen with an ERA scraping 5. We all know KW is not afraid to take risks, so with the 5th spot wide open and its next start being skipped, I would not be surprised to see a Jeff Suppan in here by the 31st.
