Can't believe I don't see a topic yet. 3-0 Sox after one.

How did the three runs score?

Saracen
07-25-2003, 07:37 PM
Single by Alomar. Lee safe on an error. Big Frank hammered a sure homer, but the wind pushed it back in for an out.

Maggs came through with a double to right center to score 2. Then Everett singled to score Maggs.

Konerko grounded out sharply for a DP.

Tomorrow's game will be on WGN, so I will be able to watch it. I, too would prefer to witness his home run live, rather than reading about or watching Sportscenter.

Leadoff double by Manos in the 5th. Crede better get him over! Let's see some execution here.

Crede grounded out to move him over. Olivo with the basehit to score Valentin. 4-0 SOX!

Why is Olivo caught stealing? Who gave him the green light? He doesn't look like Bake McBride to me!

Did Big Frank get a standing ovation on that home run?

Yep, and a curtain call.

It's good to see Frank swinging the bat well, especially since he has been the DH for the past few weeks. Let's hope he continues his home run binge for....oh.....the rest of the year!

Ok...now that the game is in hand I am now hoping that Tampa scores one this inning. Get ELo outta there in the eight and bring out the gimp

I have a plan. We need to clone Frank Thomas, so when the current one decides to retire, the new one can step right in. After that, another one can play, then another, then another...

7-2 Sox now. Should Koch get some work?

I think it depends on what the Sox do in the bottom half of the seventh. If they can add a run or two, then Loaiza should be allowed to finish the game. If not, then a call to the bullpen might be in order, but not for Billy Koch. Gary Glover would be more appropriate. If Billy Koch enters this game...

Another standing O for Frank when he came up to bat in the 7th. Very classy Sox fans.

It's good to see that. If Frank knows how much Sox fans appreciate him, the likelyhood of him staying in Chicago increases dramatically, since he has the option of re-signing with the Sox.

Okay, looks like the plate is set for Botch... a five run lead is a minimally acceptable margin, but a few more runs would sure be nice, right about now.

If Koch gives up a Grand Slam, the Sox still have a one-run lead. That's how I'm looking at it.

Indeed... that's why I'm surprised we didn't see a fourth man take the mound this inning.
