From the Trib:
Disappointed with the performance of midseason acquisition Alan Embree, the Sox claimed veteran lefty Bill Pulsipher off waivers Thursday. He will join the team Friday at Tampa Bay, replacing rookie Matt Ginter.

Dan Wright seemed in good spirits a day after he allowed seven runs on nine hits in only two-thirds of an inning in Wednesday's start. It helped that the Sox recovered for a 13-12 victory.

"I try to learn something every day," said Wright, who has made five starts since being promoted from Double-A Birmingham. "The sun came up today. I learned that."

Wright might not have to wait the scheduled five days for his next start. With Rocky Biddle making a surprise appearance in relief Thursday, Wright could start Saturday against the Devil Rays but Manuel is leaning toward Sean Lowe if Biddle is not available.
