View Full Version : The book on Crede

Watching the game in Toronto I notice that Crede got 4 pitches all down and away. He swung and missed two of them and struck out. It seems to me that he can't lay off that pitch and everybody in the stadium knows it. He seems to swing at that low and away pitch a lot. Has anybody else noticed this?

Yes. It's one of his biggest problems. He'll drop down and throw the bat at it. If he hits it, it goes foul. Most of the time, he doesn't hit it, especially when he's in protective mode.
I don't see him being too productive until he can consistently stop offering at that pitch and get more pitches inside. There's no reason to currently not go outside and away, so Crede needs to take the first step and curb his swinging.

At 24, players shouldn't have those kind of problems.

At age 25 which he is now, most players have played more than 170 games at the major league level. Not to mention a ton of September ABs against other callups like himself.

Olivo does that too and he too is still young.
