Will they go 3-1 against a horrible Detroit team, showing they're ready to at least TRY to play .667 baseball the rest of the way and make it a race or will they go 2-2 against horrible Detroit team, showing they're still not willing to worry about the little games, thereby signaling KW to start dumping?

I'm hoping for the former. Let's GO SOX!

Yea,i guess you can call today a must win. We've got Esteban the man going but they are throwing a left-hander who is 1-0 with a 1.13 era in his last 3 starts(16 innings). If they can get the job done today(GO WHITE SOX!!!) i will be real interested to see how Porzio will do monday, and even more interested to see how Colon will fare tuesday afternoon.

The Sox have a good opportunity to win this game, but they need to act quickly. Loaiza can keep Detroit off the board, but the Sox need provide him with some run support. I'm still not comfortable turing the game over to the bullpen. Marte pitched last night, so he probably won't be availible for this afternoon's contest.

Well, Jerry's lineup seems to say he doesn't care and that 2-2 will be fine with him...

Why should he care? The Chairman guaranteed a few days ago that his job was secure through the year.

I think he was referring to the Sox winning two thirds of their games for the rest of the season.

Actually "3 and 4 ball" is .429
3 out of 4 in .750

Yes, referring to playing .667 the rest of the way as having a chance. Anything less than that and it might be over, especially with KC and MIN showing signs of life.

So -- everyone wants to rag on the AL Central, but the division looks pretty decent this weekend.
