Mágglio Ordóñez flew 50 of his family and friends in from Venezuela for the game tonight, and all of them are staying at his house! I do not know where he lives or what kind of house he has, but it ought to be an interesting night at the Ordóñez household tonight.

From NBC 5.com: "It's A Family Thing For Ordóñez" (http://www.nbc5.com/sports/2334620/detail.html)

That is family commitment. He was asked on NBC 5 news, too, if he would have to sleep on the floor. Instead, he bought a bunch of couches. That's a lot of couches to fill for 50+ people. That's a great story. Funny, interesting and very nice.

Maggs lives in Burr Ridge. Near 79th & Wolf Road.

A college buddy lives down the street from him, so the last time I was over there we took a walk down and I got to check out his place.

I saw a huge group of fans at the game yesterday waving the Venezualen flag and wearing the colors who went crazy when Mags batted. I just wished that he could have done something a little better than a foul out for them (and us). But it looked like he got all those tickets for his family and that they were havng a blast.

Its not like the guy lives in a Studio apt on 31st street.
the guys got a 50 room mansion...... its a venezuelan tradition,
the host of the house gives you a couch when you leave.

Well, my family could use a new couch, so I hope I get invited someday soon.

Really? To take home or just to crash on the next time you come back? That's one heck of a tradition...
