Submit the most outrageous and ill-advised moves in Sox history. I submit for your appoval the most obvious: Carlton Fisk shamelessly sent out to pasture in LF during the Harrelson years. Also, the ill-fated Jose Valentin in CF experiment.

Jimenez at 3rd base during the last Sox/Cubs game at the Cell.

It would be remiss to leave this off the list:

Terry "The Brain" Bevington calling for the lefty when there isn't one warming up.

Josh Paul in left field

No contest: Carlton Fisk in left field because Hawk Harrelson thought his days as a catcher were over.

How about the Michael Jordan experiment?

This goes back a ways, but Ron Santo at second base in '74 ranks near the top.

Bobby Bonilla for Jose DeLeon is up there.

Mike Squires catching.

Letting Ron LeFlore play the field.

Hawk from the booth to the front office.

The aforementioned move of Fisk to LF to make room for Ron Hassey and Joel Skinner (and Marc Hill?)

Bonilla at 1B before being traded for DeLeon.

KW at 3B.

Firing LaRussa.

Steve Sax.

Letting Torborg go. Hiring Lamont. Firing Lamont. Hiring Bevington. Re-hiring Bevington after hanging him out to dry in a failed pursuit of Jim Leyland.

Cory Snyder in LF and Raines at DH on opening day of Comiskey II.

Frank at DH instead of 1B.

Parque as the Game 1 stater in the 2000 ALDS.

i think parque was the only healthy one at the time. Sirotka needed rest or something like that.

Royce Clayton at SS to move Valentin to CF/3B

Jaime Navarro's many bullpen stints "to find his stuff" only to find out that he sucked as a starter AND a reliever.

Chris Snopek replacing Robin Ventura at 3B

Moving Keith Foulke to "mop up duty" for the remainder of the '02 season after 2 bad weeks closing where he lost his control.

Bevington's call to the pen when there were no more relievers was definitely a tinkering hall of shame moment.

The Sox moving from free TV to Sportsvision in the early 1980's.

Releasing Fisk instead of letting him retire on his own.

Releasing Fisk while on a road trip.

Jerry-boy's "resting" of several key players leading up to the 2000 playoffs - keeping them perfectly out of rhythm. We haven't been the same since. :whiner:

Melton in the outfield-
Orta at 3b -
Dick Allen at 2b -
Fisk in LF in 81 so Essian could catch-
Richard Dotson pinch runner

1. Royce Clayton
2. Jerry Manuel
3. Ken Williams

And last, but not least...

How in the world did this man get his hands on the Chicago White Sox?
