"Facts are facts. We've had problems with guys that on paper we shouldn't have. We got beat by a guy (Jeremy Bonderman) that was 2-13 and another (Nate Cornejo) that was 3-7. It's a little mystifying. You add the fact that we had just come off some big series and had a mental letdown, which is inexcusable."-- Greg Walker to the Chicago Tribune.

I give Greg credit for telling the truth. We've seen this since the start of the 2001 season. Perfect inconsistency, perfect mediocrity. The only difference this year as opposed to 2001 and 2002 is that this year we have beaten some pretty good teams while losing to garbage. In 01 and 02 it was the other way around.

The hardheads on this team lack plate discipline. If seems like they take pitches against 1st pitch strike guys, and swing at 1st ball against pitchers like Bonderman.

A modern marvel, really.
