Today Hawk mentioned that Joe Crede is taking to many strikes and letting fastballs go to waste. Hawk kind of implied that the Sox are instructing Joe to be patient at the plate and may be Joe should just turn it lose.

You guys all know that the count has a huge impact of a batters success . Here are the numbers on Crede and he just doesn't get any 2-0 counts , which are what batters make a living off.

On the subject of Crede, I think he deserves credit for getting a big bunt down today and a sac fly. IT seems like nobody on this team is able to sacrifice.

The Sox have to get Crede going maybe turning him loose on some early counts will work in his favor.

Pitchers would have to change the book on how they pitch to Joe if he could shake it up a bit.

Hitting .200 with a full count is not very good at all.

I went back and edited the post and put the ab's in.

Joe has had 45 ab's with a 1-2 count, so he is in a protect mode and the results are not favorable.

Talking about counts, DJ was blown away when Olivo got a 2-0 breaking ball with the bases loaded and one out in Tampa. The TB pitcher went on to throw a 3-1 breaking ball and then eventually struck out Olivo on , yep another breaking ball.

It's not business as usual , the game has turned 180 degrees since the days of a fastball coming on a 2-0 count.

How about yesterday when Tony G. hit that 3 run homer with 2 outs and a 1-2 count. Even Tony was amazed that he put the ball in the seats.

Getting back to Crede, I would like to see the charts on his success from last year and what he is doing different now. Pitchers do make adjustments, but so can Joe.
