From The Dallas Morning News...

ARLINGTON – Rangers outfielder Juan Gonzalez confirmed Saturday that he has fired agent Jeff Moorad and gone back to Fernando Cuza of SFX Sports Group, who served as his agent earlier in his career.

Moorad, reached Saturday afternoon, said he wasn't aware of any change. However, Gonzalez, without explaining the move, confirmed that Cuza now represents him.

"He's a good guy," Gonzalez said.

The question is whether the move by Gonzalez will change the tenor of the delicate process of moving the slugging outfielder, who already turned down a trade to the Expos, to another club before the July 31 trading deadline.

Rangers general manager John Hart declined comment, but one source said Hart and Cuza already have had one conversation.

Sources inside and outside the Rangers also confirmed the Kansas City Royals, the Rangers' current opponent, have shown interest in acquiring Gonzalez and have the requisite young pitching the Rangers seek in return.

But a Rangers source said Gonzalez, who has a full no-trade clause, does not want to go to Kansas City. It will be interesting to see if the change in representation changes that .
