I don't often rant but I am getting sick of the Sox trotting Danny Wright out to the mound. He is terrible! I know that he was coming off an injury, but C'MON! He get's handed a 2 run lead tonight and what does he do? He promptly loads the bases and walks a run home. Send him to the pen, send him down, do something! It's embarrassing to see him out there!

I feel better now...

What channel is the game on? I haven't watched the Sox all week, so why not make a crummy day even worse?

Danny Wright is nothing short of pathetic. Why do we keep trotting him out there?

This kind of takes me back to another quote from Bull Durham...

"What's our record, Kenny?" asked Jerry.

"43 and 47," responded Kenny.

"43 and 47. How did we ever win 43?" asked Jerry.

"It's a miracle!" exclaimed Kenny.

It's amazing how a team can go from playing terrific ball to playing terribly. I'll never understand that. I guess it's another oddity of baseball.

You've got to be bad when a guy named after a breakfast cereal knocks a run in on ya!

Jerry Manuel's managing IQ evokes another breakfast cereal name...Special K.

I'm all for sending Wright and Glover down to AAA. And get Konerko and Crede out of the line up. Put Valentin up front and let Roberto play baseball.

Now, it's 6-5 Indians. Danny Wright will probably give the runs right back.

They pulled him in the third. Although, he might be bad enough to find a way to give them runs from the bench.

It would have been nice to see one of the new guys pay off. DJ could have hit a grounder to second with two outs and two in scoring position.

My bad. I've been following the game on and off through ESPN Gamecast. I now see that White is pitching.

Danny (I Can't Pitch) Wright is our of our "can't miss kids!" You all know that....how can ANYBODY give up on him!!!!!

Just wondering where all his supporters are from three months ago?????

Joe Crede is 2-2. The trouble is, he'll follow tonight's performance up with four straight hitless games.

I'm right there with you. I have been cringing every time they trot him out there. Maybe he has "raw talent" or he's going through some problems with his mechanics or whatever, but let him work it out in the minors. He's just throwing BP for the opponents right now.

Double by Thomas. Men on second and third for Maggs.

Did the Sox bring Warren Morris to Cleveland with them and put him in an Indians uniform as Ben Brousard?

Gang:

If the Sox lose this game (probably) and the Royals win (they were up 4-3), the Sox will be 6 1/2 out.

I'll go on record and say that it's over . Absolutely amazing how the season which suddenly looked promising can go down the toilet in ten days.

This team has the most fragile ego I've ever seen in a club. can't explain why. That leaves only four questions for the rest of the season:

1. When does Manager Gandhi get fired?

2. When does the fire sale start?

3. How many fans do the Sox draw the rest of the way (important because that'll determine how much the payroll is cut for 2004)

4. Can the Sox somehow at least finish with 82 wins and a winning record from this abortion of a season?

Jerry manages these games as if the team can't come back. They're just an excuse to use those guys in the bullpen whose names he doesn't know.

If Jerry Manuel isn't fired by the time the 'Break ends, I refuse to spend any money on the Sox until Reinsdorf sells. Not only that, but I will also begin running a web-site that revolves around finding Frank Thomas a new home, so that he can win a World Series.

I'm here. Yes, Danny Wright is my favorite player on this team. I just feel if he can ever harness his stuff he has the chance to be real good. That's a big IF. I like his fire and guts, but I don't think it helps him when he is skipped in the rotation. He is not good enough to pitch on 8 days rest. He needs regular work. If he is sent down, so be it, it is probably best for him right now. He does have some nasty stuff though.

Lost in the Koch disaster is the fact that Carl Everett hasn't yet made a catch in center field that I couldn't make.

I have stopped watching the games. Admittedly checked the score online a few times. I would rather relax, do something else, and check these message boards to see what I missed at the end. It's a lot more fun and much less nerve-wracking.

Also, if it takes a Cleveland sweep to lose Gahndi, I'm all for it. However, I am of the firm belief that even if they do lose the rest of this series, Jerry is here to stay til season's end.
