It just shows the quality of players in the minor leagues.

1) Phillies signed outfielder Brian Simmons to a minor league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

2) Giants released RHP Lorenzo Barcelo from Triple-A Fresno.

3) Rehabbing reliever Antonio Osuna pitched two scoreless innings today for Single-A Tampa. Osuna will come off the DL on Saturday.

4) D'Angelo Jimenez made his second straight start last night and went 2-for-4. Jimenez is 3-for-7 with a walk as a member of the Reds.

Maybe the Sox should send there scouts out to watch Donn Pall pitch batting practice at the AS Game!

Lyle Mouton's only claim to fame was that we got him and two other stiffs for Jack McDowell. Sigh...

Aaron Myette another highly regarded "can't miss kid," that some fans actually said on this board I think two or three years ago that we should have never traded him.

LOL

90% of the Sox farm prospects won't even see the major leagues let alone star in them, that's why I never have any problems with trading them.

The Reds released Jaime Navarro a couple weeks ago, maybe he can make a come back!

Anyone Noticing how Cub Fans are just now COMPLAINING and Moaning and Groaning about the "Trade" that sent Dontrell Willis over to the Marlins. Funny how NOT ONE SINGLE flub fan I know, complained when the trade went down last year. They Instead were Happy and dancing at Clark and Addison that they got 2 great players for the price of one ML player, and some minor leaguers. Only recently, have stories come out that he was once a cub farmhand, that people started complaining. Man, Im so glad im not a cub fan

As I read through this thread I can't help but think that the Sox dumped a lot of these guys at the right time. But looking back they were all futures of the organization. I am worried that in 3 years we will see the likes of Jon Garland, Jon Rauch, Joe Crede, and Joe Borchard on this list. Hopefully I will be wrong.

I'd trade Garland right now. He's pitched fairly well lately and they should be able to get a solid return for him. I don't think this kid has the mental makeup to be a solid starter in the majors.

Perfect example ofhti swas the other night, the Sox finally scrape together a run to tie the game and he immediatley gives up a homer to give back the lead. Good pitchers bear down and shut out the other team after their team ties the game.

Anyone remember that nasty collision that Lyle Mouton had with then White Sox CF Dave Martinez? He broke a bone in his skull and was out for a while. That was the nastiest collision I've ever seen in baseball. When he came back, he wore a mask and Hawk called him "the phantom of the basepaths".

Another footnote in the history of Aaron Myette is that he was the "stud pitcher" that was traded for "defensive specialist" Royce Clayton.

"Imagine if that trade never went down Sox fans! You would never have seen my record setting field percentage year!"
