But I have always wondered this, and I noticed Frank is fifth in the AL for it.

How is the slugging percentage calculated?I am ashamed to admit i dont know the answer to this, but I have never seen anything to see how.

Isn't it bases per at bats? I don't know what they do with walks though...

It's TB/AB or to make it look complicated: (1B + 2 x 2B + 3 x 3B + 4 x HR)/AB

BB and HP do not figure in.

I'm pretty sure it's total bases divided by at-bats, which would mean walks count towards total bases, but not at-bats...so maybe divided by plate appearances?

i hate slg and ignore it. i think it's a pointless stat whose only purpose is to give sluggers w/ a low batting avg a stat they can point to.
