When trades aren't being made...games happen.

Lee just robbed Pierezinkkski on a liner tailing into the corner. My only regret is that he didn't throw the ball back into the Twins dugout and hit the jerk on top of his batting helmet, too.

I loved the look on A.J's face after he noticed C. Lee robbed the hit. Bwahaha.

Put THAT in your pipe and smoke it!

Judging from the utter disdain in here towards d ang. jimenez, I'm guessing getting a player like R. Alomar will be quite the popular move.I'm so happy I could spit!!! :gulp:

Frank T is turning on that inside pitch now. This has been his problem the last two years. The inability to hit the inside pitch with authority made him a one dimensional hitter. I think he's slowly finding his stroke. Hopefully he will continue to find his way. It will be extremely helpful to the team. :gulp:

Unfortunately, Frank hasn't been going to right field for very many hits. He's batting .280 with almost no hits to right field. Most of his hits have been pulled or up the middle.

If he can start hitting the ball hard and with authority to right field instead of the usual popups or flyouts, he's going to finish the year with an above .300 average.

And, I sure hope he does!

Nice to see Crede come in and get the RBI... a couple of weeks ago, the Twins would already be out of this inning unscathed. We're starting to capitalize on RBI opportunities and if we keep it up, it will be the difference between the playoffs and finishing below .500. Radke out, Santana in.

Don't you just love that Gardenhire won't start Santana? He is by far the best pitcher on their team IMHO.

as of now after frank's rbi double, cbs.sportsline.com has the score at 7-0 with 2 runs scoring on crede's ground rule.

this is weird cuz all other sites have it at 6-0, but sportsline is almost always reliable. what i'm wondering is was valentin questionable at the plate or something? like thrown out on a close call?

i am just confusedas to why this would be

on a side note, Cubs lose 4-3 on a bases loaded single in the bottom of the ninth!

Another good day.

I'm sure Dusty is freaking out at the home plate celebration...

Runners were on 1st and 2nd. A ground roll double advances each runner 2 bases, therefore scoring the runner on second and leaving runners on 2nd and 3rd.

How was Buehrles reception leaving in the 9th, is he finally getting the love that he deserves now from the fans?

Jerry was booed heavily for even stepping onto the field with Buerhle 3 outs from a CG and up by 5 runs. When he left, he got a loud, 30k+ fan standing O, to which he tipped his cap in acknowledgement.

Buehrle was also pissed that Manager Gandhi took him out. You could see it on his face. He relaxed when he got that ovation.

Wow, after that second Giants loss, which I got to see on TV, I had given up on them. But now it looks like the division is ours to just reach out and grab. And with our staff, a playoff series upset is possible, which is really all I'm asking. Of course, I take the title, but even a playoff series win would be an incredible burden off this franchise's Atlas Shrugged-like back.

Yeah, but it was the right move. He threw 129 pitches on Thursday and had already hit 100 tonight. He was starting to get hit harder. The shutout was gone. Go sit down, Mark and take your standing O. Let the bullpen finish for you...
