Hmmm . . . not bad. I would think Daubach should be DH'ing at least as frequently as Jimenez. When he does, I would hit Alomar first, not Valentin (he doesn't get on base often enough and his power is better utilized further down in the lineup), with CLee hitting 2nd. With that said, I really think the Sox have soured on Jimenez; maybe the bondheaded plays, maybe laziness that we don't see, who knows. I have a feeling he's going to get traded or sent down (assuming he has options left) and Wee Willie is going to stick. I hope I'm wrong -- as much as Jimenez drives me nuts, I think he's much better than Harris.

i don't necessarily love that lineup

i was thinking...depending on whom we deal if i ran the sox my lineup would probably be:

1. harris/rowand cf
2. robbie
3. magglio
4. frank
5. carlos or daubach whoever's hitting better
6. the other one
7. crede
8 valentin
9. olivo

that would generally remain the same with subs, although if graff subbed for crede, he'd bat 8th and manos goes 7th...sandy for olivo, sandy would go 8th and valentin would go ninth...not because sandy's a better hitter, but because it's nice to have basepath non-liabilities at 9...

i don't know

those line ups will score about 10 runs the first game and then we will have Rios at 2nd, Alomar at 3rd for the first time in his career and Konerko DH because he needs some at bats. He will then figure out that Jimenez should play short the next night because Valentin will be on a six game hit streak and that is unacceptable in tinkerland.

I assume we will send Konerko down - he's really jamming up our bench.

Jerry Manuel is probably salivating at the number of new lineups that he can come up with now that Alomar is on the roster. I hope he doesn't do anything to screw this up.

Sheeesh. You cannot send Paul Konerko down to th minors unless he volunteers, per the CBA.

This has been discussed over and over for the past 2 weeks.

Manuel says he plans to use Alomar leading off.

As I said in an eariler post, Manuel must be beside himself with glee as he anticipates all the new changes he can make to the lineup. I hope someone above him in the Sox organization tells him who to play and who not to play. This tinkering business has gone on long enough.

Why would we put someone batting .200 in the leadoff spot. For that matter, why would they be in the Majors? I think Rowand, now that he is healthy, deserves to be in the starting lineup. In the month of June he batted .375! I don't see Carl Everett as an improvement over Rowand. I do see him as a chance to get Willie Harris and Armando Rios out of the lineup.

Yours makes sense to me. It's a huge upgrade over what we've been dealing with since opening day.

Haven't you seen what Harris has been doin in the lead off spot the last week? If he keeps it up he's your stereotypical lead off guy with lots of speed and puts the ball into play and sees a lot of pitches.

I have agreed with everything that Wills has said tonight:

- Alomar = Good
- Worried about Everett
- Rowand on fire
- Harris needs more time in the minors
- Rios needs to shut up and make the most of his opportunities

My turn...

1) Everett-CF
2) R. Alomar-2B
3) Thomas-1B
4) Ordonez-RF
5) Valentin-SS
6) Lee-DH/LF
7) Rowand-LF/Daubach-DH
8) Crede-3B
9) Olivo/S. Alomar-C

I like Alomar hitting in the 2-hole better than Everett. He has the ability to get the little things done & move runners over into scoring position.

We need to pound the ball!! With our pitching the way it has been we might really have a shot here to do something special.

R. Alomar 2b Switch
Rowand CF R
Thomas 1B R
Maggs RF R
Everett DH L
Lee RF R
Valentine SS Switch
S. Alomar/Olive C R's (gives Sandy rest)
Crede 3D R

This also gives you Harris and Graffino as Good speed on eh bench, and Pauly and Brian D as extra bats. Splits up the righty's we have. Also we still have room to rotate our bench guys in, we have good versatility. We can even flip flop 1-2 for right handers. Even give Everett a day off once in a while against lefties. If Harris ever starts to hit he can take over CF if Rowand has not played up to his ability.

Doesn't Everett play CF? If so there's no reason to put him in LF.

i put him in left so we have a damn good defensive outfield. i love lee, but he is adequate at best. everett is much better with the glove.
