Willie or Aaron... big decision for Jerry

How about Singleton or Lofton?

I like that idea. While I'm excited about the Alomar acquisition, I think CF is a bigger need.

Aaron has been swinging a hot stick lately, but Willie's speed cannot be denied. I choose Willie for the speed, something we lack. Defensively, they are about even. Willie has better range, and probably a better arm out there.

In order of preference:

1) Shannon Stewart
2) Carlos Beltran (if 100%)
3) Juan Pierre
4) Chris Singleton
5) Todd Hollandsworth
6) John Vanderwal
7) Rondell White (I know he can't play CF)
8) Kenny Lofton

I voted for Rowand for now, but I'd really like to see the Sox get a better center fielder.

So they have "solved" the 2B question. I would have preferred Castillo. But I still would try to get Pierre from the Fish to play CF.

We could also find a RF and move Maggs to CF if we're desperate.

I hope they are not that desperate.

Speaking as 956 on your list why do you have Stewart or Beltran?

I know Stewart has only a few games of experience in CF, but would probably work out OK (better than Rios). TSN mentions that the Jays are shopping him for pitching.

Beltran is probably not available (at least not to a division rival like the Sox). Shoulda put it in pink

Stewart bats right and is a LF. Pierre bats left and is a legit CF. Stewart is 29 and Pierre is 25. Pierre is cheaper, monetarily and hopefully in terms of what is needed to acquire him. The more I see of Pierre the more I think he fits the bill perfectly.

You're giving Rowand way too much credit... He should be somewhere arond #956.

You're right. I revised the list. Rowand isn't that bad so I put him in the 700s. Thanks

:)

I'd rather have Rowand or Rios than Harris. I think I smell a platoon coming. Harris goes back to AAA to work on hitting and Rowand and Rios split time in CF.
