Sadly, I agree with him about Loaiza.

Jay wants Esteban to start the ASG; I think he used the "Whoaiza?" reference to demonstrate the outer baseball world's ignorance of him.

Before we start patting Eddie Munster's brother on the back for getting one right, he doesn't get a pass from me. Does anyone else recall his column back in May where Moronatti said that the Sox would need "... Sherpa guides..." etc. to find, let alone catch the Twins by now? Do the Twins look so big, bad, or tough to catch now?

Want some salt or ketchup for that column, Jay, or are you now on the bandwagon?

Not a bad article but why dose he have to call us the "Second team" ?

Because he's an idiot. Did you see his Sunday column? He made a comment like (and I'm paraphrasing): For a change fans didn't run on the field.

For a change??? I agree there have been some incidents, but it's certainly not an everyday occurrenece.

I'm with you on that, SMO. Mariotti gets no passes from me. I
have clear memories of the time the Sox were "scum" and a
"gutter" team after the high slide game at Wrigley in 2001.

Besides, positive or negative in his columns, he'll take his cheap
shots regardless. Look for:

"whatever they're calling Comiskey Park these days"

"ill-conceived, poorly-designed ballpark in a less than desirable
neighborhood"

"team has thrown a world series since it last won one"

"fans run out onto the field..."

I guarantee you that no matter the position of the Sox or how
well they are doing, you'll find one of those reminders in any
column.
