GO SOX!

Kerry Wood has been a little wild today. Let's see if the Sox can take advantage of that.

Damn! 2-1 Cubs after an Alou homerun.

3-1, Scrubbies.

The game is not over, Sox fans... The game is not over.

Doublem23 is right. The Cubs coughed up leads Friday and Saturday. There's no reason to think they won't do it again.

Thomas, Ordonez, and Daubach due up. Let's go Sox!

3-1 Flubs after four.

Jimenez can't turn DP's from any position!

More tinkering gone bad on a Sunday

After that crap error that Jimenez just made, and the way we're swinging against Wood, it looks like this game is going to the Cubs. It's too bad - we could have used the momentum going into the Twins series... 4-1 Cubs.

Manuel was quoted as saying that he is playing Jimenez at third because "he was playing third when he got the hit" on Saturday. That's a great reason to play someone out of position.

The only hope I can see is that Wood has seemed kinda wild. Maybe it'll go sour as the game goes on.

Nice solo shot by Rowand, 4-2 Cubs.

2 runs on 2 hits... we gotta step it up.

5-2 Cubs. Jose Hernandez homered to right in the sixth.

Sammy Sosa is really not good.

Stupid question...Are there more Cub fans at this game than Sox fans? Or, are they just louder because they are winning??

Wood hurt? Or is it a Dusty ploy to let the relief pitcher get more tosses in?

Make your call now, if this was a good Jerry move or not....

I say YES! Olivo has looked bad against Wood.

And that's why I'm just some guy who lives 2000 miles away...and not the manager.

Why doesnt Miguel Olivo ever get a chance to drive in some runs. It seems when he does he gets the job done, but the past few times weve pinch hit for him. Why do we put in a cold rios when there is one out and bases loded. I just dont get it.

Not a good move-using up your only left handed ph in 7th inning

RKMeibalane

I wonder how much longer Baker will stick with Wood. He has pitched well to this point, but he has eclipsed the one hundred pitch mark.

Maybe Konerko should try hitting left handed. It couldn't be worse.

I don't know why, but I've always wondered what Frank Thomas would be like batting left-handed. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I'm left-handed.

Frank with a one-out single. Come on, Maggs!

Watch him hit in a mirror. It is really odd. I watched part of a baseball game once that way. You realize that lefty's and righty's really do look differently.

Two on, one out. Daubach is up. Let's go Sox!

Well, if this doesn't work out...at least KC will definitely lose and Minny will probably lose today.

RKMeibalane
06-29-2003, 03:35 PM
Agreed. As long as the Sox don't lose any ground to their division rivals, then all is not lost.

RKMeibalane

What's with Damian Miller today? He seems to be hitting the ball hard. Hmmm... it looks as though another Cub has started juicing.

:shammy

"What do you mean another Cub?"

Three more outs left. Come on, guys. Surely you've got another comeback in you.

I'm not feeling like they do...but hey, I sure am hoping.

RKMeibalane

Wood is out of the ballgame. Remlinger is in. I hope Manuel is smart enough to pinch hit for Willie Harris against the lefty.

RKMeibalane
06-29-2003, 03:47 PM
That is, of course, if the inning gets to that point.

RKMeibalane
06-29-2003, 03:48 PM
Tony G is pinch-hitting for Valentin. I'm beginning to think that Jose should give up switch-hitting entirely.

RKMeibalane
06-29-2003, 03:50 PM
Borowski is now on to face Rowand.

RKMeibalane
06-29-2003, 03:51 PM
Rowand singled with one out. Let's go, guys. It's not over yet.

Alomar has nothing left in the tank.

That was quite a celebration by Sammy. I think Dusty should scold him.

We lost that game for one reason...Kerry Wood is good.

RKMeibalane

Oh, well. A sweep would have been nice, but I'll settle for two out of three.

Keep winning series, and they went from first to third in this series.

IF ONLY Jose's drive had enough to get out, this would have been the sweetest weekend in a long time....Gotta give most of the credit to Wood, who battled his ass off. Manuel also gets a good chunk of the blame. Hopefully Jimenez' 2 errors convinced Jerry not to try a stupid stunt like that again. The dumbest move of the day was definitely bringing is Rios to pinch-hit for Olivo. I don't think a batter has much of a chance against Wood if he hasn't seen the breaking stuff for himself at the plate. Jerry has got to stop these lefty-righty matchups because they never work.

I think it probably had more to do with Olivo looking like a fool out there against Wood.

Isn't this the 4th time since this series began in 1997 that the Sox grabbed the first two games of the three game series and then blew the final "sweep" game.

Dammit why can't we ever finish these clowns off!
