It looks like this is going to be another typical Danny Wright start. Bad in the first, fine afterwards. Way to get out of a jam Danny... Wow did they get on Sosa. I can't wait for Sunday...

Well, I was listenting to it on ESPN Radio, but according to Farmer, it was a tailor made double play ball, and DJ tried to barehand the throw from Valentin and dropped it. You shouldve heard Farmer, lol, he wanted Jimenez released right there. Rooney said something like 'Don't get me started on Jimenez.'

The night games are much more electric when the Cubs and the White Sox face off.

Frank Thomas was quoted as saying something very similar in the Tribune today.

I was pretty upset earlier when I found out all games were during the day.

Regardless, let's finish this game and start off the series with a win!

MarqSox
06-27-2003, 04:33 PM
The games are during the day because the City Council passed a resolution a few years ago after a Cubs-Sox night game had a whole bunch of alcohol-induced altercations. The resolution said that all future games involving both Chicago clubs should start in the afternoon. You'll note tomorrow's game is at 3 p.m., which is quite unusual.

Not with Shammy* up with the chance to put the Flubs ahead in the game. Foulke blew it in that situation against the Flubs before. That is what sent him into a tailspin one year.

Who the hell knows what JM would have done (with Foulke). If you have him figuerd out you're a much better man than me. :D:

My guess is that if Foulke was still here, the Tinkerer would have him all screwed up & confused about what his role in the pen was too.

Well his pitching management sucked as usual. Gordon all year looks good for 1 inning 2 at the most. You should never bring him out for a third. He let him load the bases up for Koch. Koch then has to try to pitch out of it. Koch didn't pitch bad enough to deserve a blown save today. Give that one to Jerry.

Still SOX WIN

I totally agree. It is getting to the point where I wish Nardi would ask him, "What do you want to do, Jerry?" and then do the opposite.

Yeah, but why wasn't Koch in after the first hit, or the second. Why wait until Gordon completely melts down and the tie is almost assured before doing anything?

I wanted to see Gordon pitch the ninth. I was wrong. You have a closer. You have a closing situation, use the closer. It's that simple.

Remind me again. Exactly how many blown saves does koch have this year and when was the last one. Big picture, he gives us all heartburn and then gets the job done. Maybe he is the luckiest crappy pitcher in the history of the game. I'll take that luck.

Why does Jerry pick today to finally stick by his word that the Sox may not always go with Koch in closing situations? The first time he actually says something and then follows through on it and it backfires on him. The guy needs to be fired if for no other reason than he has no luck AT ALL!
