nice article. i hope he will be able to contribute but i wont count on it. if he is 100% and has no ill-effects from the surgery, then out staff will be looking pretty good.

Hmmm....labrum and rotator cuff in the same surgery, eh? Not good news, but since he's in his early 20's, time is on his side. The last thing Jon should not do is to be rushed back to the mound...those injuries don't heal overnight.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's not ready by spring training.

I like the fact that he seems to have more of an attacking mentality than Kip or Garland had when they first came up. I wish Kip could get into that frame of mind every time he pitches.

Maturity, College experience, and suffering throught the adversity of playing with Menengitis, really taught him to be a pitcher when he was young. When he regained his 'stuff' when healthy, he showed his unlimited potential....
