Who here would like to see Tony G at second next year instead of Ray Durham. I heard he was a very consistent starter for the Atlanta Braves before he went to the D-Rays.

Looking at his at-bats, he has never been anything more than a reserve. He was with the Braves from 1996-1998 and in 1996-1997, Mark Lemke was the starter and in 1998, Keith Lockhart was the starter or at least the majority starters.

If it came down to it, I'd say keep Ray instead of TG at 2nd. But I still think they should dump Ray and put Valentin at 2nd, with TG as a reserve.

I would like to see Tony G anywhere but on this team.

He's not close to a major league player - even as a utility infielder. Come on.

I disagree, TG is a fine bench player. He isn't a defensive specialist, but he can spell 5 positions, and hit for a decent average off the bend. He isn't a starter, but he is just fine as a reserve, IMO...

TG is exactly that, a utility player, and he fits that perfectly. I don't see where you are going to find a better utility infielder. You need to find a guy that hits for decent average .260-.290 and won't bitch cause he is NOT a starter, thats Tony, I think he fits here.
