Things look terrible now, but why throw the towel in? You have to play the games anyways, so you might as well take a shot at it. If I'm Kenny Williams (and I never want to be KW) here's what I'd do:

Fire JM and replace him with Backman
Release Rick White - Call up Aaron Miles
Trade a minor leaguer for Kenny Lofton then send Borchard down
Send down David Sanders - Call up Matt Ginter

And I'd do it all on the same day. (Today)

Incidentally, none of the above moves would be excessively expensive and doing all of this on the same day would have to send a tidal wave through the corpse that is our locker room.
