Not so fast our ace looks like a Joker again.

My god is Buehrle awful now. I think the Sox could even score 3 runs off of him if he pitched vs them. Let him go to the Cardinals if he wants, he doesnt deserve 5 million a yr

Also, isnt it great that the Sox play like a NL team now. We have Harris in the 9 spot, and he looks like a pitcher batting usually.

8-2 Twins. Buehrle sucked once again tonight.

It's time for:
- the Rick White era to end. Release him now!
- Mark Buehrle to go on 5 days rest
- Willie Harris to go back to T-ball and learn to hit
- Call up an outfielder that can contribute offensively...Borchard
- Graffanino to get more playing time at 3b

You know that most wanted deck of cards that they gave to troops in Iraq? We need to create those for "Sox biggest goats" and make Buehrle the ace of spades.

Uh......I guess we suck again. If the pitching is good, the hitting sucks. If the hitting is good then the pitching sucks. Being a Sox fan is a never ending nightmare. Also, I feel as though we have the WORST fielding team in baseball. Oh and Crede is Horrendous and pitiful at the same time. HEACE!

You're my btother !
I totally agree to all of your points.

But still........The Sox won't make it this year.

There have to be more moves to make.

But you can put this season into the garbage.
Everybody who see games from other teams (MLB TV) like me will
admit that the Sox are less then mediocre

We would be in last place in the west division and maybe in the East too

Guess I picked a good night to go out to eat at 7:00, huh? Nothing like rushing in the door and turning on the TV with anticipation only to see MIN 11 SOX 2.
So, Buehrle will be 2-7 after tonight. Nice f^&*ing "ace"!!

This guy's is a total chump. He couldn't get anyone out in spring training and has hardly had a decent outing so far this season. He gave up four more runs tonight in 1.2 IP. His era is 7.27 now in 17.1 IP this season. He's terrible and he can't keep coming into games just to have them pile on the deficit. He's hurting this team and I have no doubt Matt Ginter can do a helluva lot better.

I am so glad i had a softball game. I might have thrown something at the TV if i had to watch that thing. We need to stop skiping people in the rotation. There is a reason why teams have 5 pitchers. by the way Garland has won a game since our "ace" has.

At the risk of making a repetitive post, what happened to Willie Harris? I just saw a shot of him on Sox Post on a golf cart with the trainer.

Willie hit the painted concrete that they call a "field" making a diving grab and may have separated his shoulder.

WOW That was one SERIOUS ass whipping!

By the way "good" teams can win on painted concrete, grass even an ice rink if they need to. The Twins don't seem to have any trouble playing at home and clubs like the Yankees seem to do OK there.

Let's stop making excuses folks.

Just my opinion.

Where did you find somebody using the "painted concrete" as an excuse for tonight's slaughter? They would have killed us anywhere tonight. If you don't think the playing field contributed to Willie Harris' injury, it's time to start just saying no.

I never like to see players injured, but this may be what the Sox needed in order to keep Harris out of the lineup. Now, Manuel has no choice but to give Rios more playing time.

Giddy? no....

Embarassed? very often by this club and this organization.

Now I do confess to getting a certain amount of satisfaction when I and others (like Torn Labrum and Pale Hose George) try to warn fans (to no avail) to take a serious look at this club every year before proclaiming that the Sox are going to the playoffs and or World Series. When it turns out that all of us were closer to the truth about the team I'm happy that I wasn't as misguided as some others.

I still wish the team would win something though, before my generation all drops dead like Dave DeBusschere.

I may not always agree with you, Lip, but that comment was absolute unnecessary and in total poor taste.

I was surprised that you would make such an ignorant statement like that, taking your hope that the Sox would win something sometime in your lifetime and drawing a parallel to DeBusschere's death.

No, Lip, you value being right over the Sox doing well. It is obvious to everyone. You can only be right if the Sox bomb. I'm convinced you'd be miserable if the Sox went on a tear. I, for one, am tired of you dancing around the fire in celebration of your "rightness."

Now, for my misery. I was at the Humpdome tonight. That was an embarassment. This was the first time in my life that I've voluntarily left a game before it was over. (There was a double header in 40 degree weather when Czalgosz was a little bitty guy. I doubt he remembers it. About the 7th inning of the second game, he and his friend Matt both started crying because they were so miserably cold, and Matt's dad and I decided that we had to put parenting ahead of Sox fandom.) As I was leaving the Metrodome in my Sox jersey and hat, I actually detected pity in the eyes of Twins fans. I got to miss the final 3 Twins runs.

The Sox were officially charged with two errors. That was a gift. Tonight was a bad defensive performance by a bad defensive team.

"Tonight's performance was most dissapointing. I will not tolerate failure. If the current roster of the Chicago White Sox is not capable of carrying out my orders, then perhaps it is time to search for replacements. The Minnesota Twins must be dealt with. I will not rest until the American League Central Division is mine!"

Right Now, I need to laugh. A keg of Schlafly's Red would work.
Man does Buehrle SUCK. Im in a bar in Wicker Park with friends watching this game, and I had to persuade them to turn one of the 9 tvs showing the stupid cubs, then I get to see Buehrle pitch like a Chump. I wanted to cancel my roadtrip, but alas, cannot as were leaving in about 45 mins. Im so mad, I cant even take a nap before we hit the Road. So with an MGD in one hand, and clenched fist in the other, I say to you Mr. Mark Buehrle.....Good Day SIR. Now off with you lest my cane find your back side

He didn't let two straight bunts go for base hits. He didn't drop a flyball in the outfield. He didn't let a routine grounder go through the right side of the infield while everyone stood around looking at it.

I hate being embarrassed by this team. The only good thing, (and I admit, sometimes I hate to do it) was getting to cheer the Cardinals on tonite. I much rather have cheered these stupid Sox. Willkes, you get points for the Painted Concrete heheh

good point. But then he let a little adversity get to him and Folded Like a Cheap Card Table. Real pitchers have to get around that. Buehrle is starting to look like last years Juan Cruz. Pitched good for a few starts though he got the losses, then ...... started to get smoked every time out and everything snowballed. Your right though, this defense deserves a Caning........In Public......right on 35th st.

It's amazing how a team can change so much in less than twenty four hours. Thursday, we saw the Sox easily hand the Baltimore Orioles a loss. This same Sox team then found itself on the receiving end of one of the worst blowouts of the 2003 season. For the sake of the AL Central Title, I hope the Sox can bounce back from this. Otherwise, they might as well give up and go home.

Guys, I'll agree that was one hell of a whoopin. As the kids would say the sox got dat ass waxed! But it can be very easy to over react to these things. I mean after all in the win column, where it really matters a 1-0 loss is the same as an 18-3 loss. If the sox can take 2-3 and get outa there this game will be a VERY distant memory in my mind.

The sox just need to regroup and come out swingin tomorrow, and give the Twinkies a taste of what they dished out today. 2 outa 3 may look like a milestone after that game but the score starts at 0 tomorrow.

Also, why is it EVERYTIME we the fans feel like the sox have had a game or a series for that matter that will give the team some sustained momentum, the sox come right out and fall embarrassingly on their face??

Folks:

The DeBusschere comment was NOT made as a joke, I mean I wrote the obit piece for WSI!

I'm about to be 48, Dave died at 62....that doesn't leave much time does it? I've seen one World Series in my lifetime and I was four at the time so I don't remember a thing about it.

Seriously I honestly think I won't be around before the Sox finally win something and that DOES bother me. As far as dropping dead, while I don't relish the thought, it's a reality folks, just a matter of time for everyone... so talking about it doesn't bug me.

If that remark did bother some of you then I apologize.

I'm 41 and wasn't alive the last time the Sox won the pennant.

My father is 78 and wasn't alive the last time the Sox won a world championship.

In contrast, the "small market" Minnesota Twins--who didn't even exist until 1961--have been to three World Series and have WON two of them within my memory: 1987 and 1991.

At our current rate of improvement, I put my chances of living to see the Sox win a pennant at 3 : 4. I calculate my chances of living to see them win a world championship at no better than 50/50.

Please try explaining this to a New York Yankees fan. For that matter, try explaining it to a Minnesota Twins fan. I give up.

Does anybody over the age of 40 believe they have as much as a 75 percent chance of living to see a Sox world championship? It's been 86+ seasons since the last one, you know.

My best hope is being younger than Jerry Reinsdorf, I expect to outlive him. With a bit of luck a latter day Ed DeBartolo will be allowed to buy the Sox--unlike 1980 when MLB owners didn't want an Italian owning a team. DeBartolo turned the 49ers into a dynasty instead. Damn... cursed Sox Fan luck.

Those were two different Debartolo's Eddie Sr. and Eddie Jr.

Eddie Jr. was also run out of the NFL for hiding his gambling interests.

Regardless, it was Ed, Sr.'s money. He set the kid up, as multi-millionaires often do.

Ed, Sr. wanted the Sox. He couldn't get the team, so he plowed his money into the 49ers instead. All the other cheapskate NFL owners (including you-know-who in Lake Forest) resented DeBartolo for pushing them into spending more than they otherwise would to be competitive. With all the shady dealings that collection of scumballs have in their past (racetracks, casino deals, liquor distributorships, ad infinitum), it hardly surprises me that Eddie, Jr. was the one they forced out.

They hated the DeBartolos, end of story. MLB has tried (and almost succeeded) in running Steinbrenner out of baseball, too. They simply HATE guys who make it tougher on the rest of them to make a buck (i.e. field a champion).
