I think we need Buerle to steal a game tonight.

I know that Mulder is good, but how far have we come when we're saying we need our ace to STEAL a game? I'm not criticizing you, I feel the same way, but at the beginning of this season we were not talking this way. Boy, how we have fallen off the charts.

I thought we were supposed to work on fundamentals in spring training.

Beat me to it Hawk!

Hey, Buehrle. I know it wasnt your fault but
how bout you cut out the walks.

Just a suggestion, but hey.... what do I know.

Maybe if we had some offense, he wouldnt be scared
to pitch to Tejada and Durazo.

Scared to pitch to the .156 hitting Tejada? If you can't pick on a guy while he's down, get out of the business. Should have gone right after him, regardless. He is in a MAJOR slump.

I want to say something positive.

When you come up to your next ab, Konerko,
just sit there with the bat on your shoulders.

Please

Please

Mulder gets a walk, gets good defense.

Buehrle gets 2 walks, Jimenez falls asleep.

Remember the good old days, when we used to lose games late? At least we used to get that "we might win feeling" for a few innings.

Its important that all 3 runs are unearned. Getting Buerle back on track may be more importnat than winning tonight.

Another thing that's important is: NO MORE DOUBLE PLAYS, WE NEED OFFENSE. Then we need Buerle in a groove. Minnesota won again tonight.

spanishwhite
05-06-2003, 10:57 PM
Why do we pay Gary Ward?

What use is there for him?

Does he actually even show up to the ballpark, do
the players know who he is?

I know that Mulder is "great", but HE IS MAKING US
LOOK RIDICULOUS!!!!

Why dont we forfeit?

Just let Buehrle pitch the rest of the game and have the
offense forfeit.

Looks like a no-hitter tonight.

We should start bunting!

Ordonez has speed and it would suprise the
hell out of the A's, not to mention it would knock
Mulder out of rhythm.

Oh yeah, we wont ground into double plays anymore.

Wow, we are REALLY TERRIBLE right about now.

Between Jimenez's awful, awful, awful (and costly) misplay of that pop-up, Maggs' GIDP streak, and the overall corpseball displayed whenever someone enters the batter's box, the Sox might as well forfeit this game right now.

I wonder: are they *trying* to tank it?

This officially qualifies as a Quality Start for Buerle. Remember, we were getting a lot of those at the beginning of the season, but when was the last time?

And we're about to blow it. On a more positive note, the WhiteSox offense is helping to shorten the average time it takes to play a major league game!

When it pours...

We have went through the rotation (Buehrle, Garland, Loaiza, Stewart, Colon) without one this past week.

You are right, we were going back and forth with the Yankees
for the lead in Quality starts.

Dont know where we are now?

Gary Ward statistic: the sox have taken 87 pitches through 7.1 against a tough pitcher. Shouldn't we be doing whatever we can to go deep into counts? KW are you paying attention?

It won't be his fault tonight. The guy has given up one run. I know Mulder is good, but Konerko looked at strike 3 like it was the 1st pitch in the at bat. They are making me physically sick. I turned them off when no one threw at Cameron on saturday, and now today I really want to watch them, but its like watching pus ooze out of an open wound. Truly disgusting.

I was trying to imply that it was his fault, just show how the mighty have fallen. REmember, at one point this season people were talking about how hot this team was.

Buerle's outing was a strong performance, which should be a silver lining - but I find myself losing all faith in this team.

I'm about to give up, and go to bed.

The DPs aren't entirely the White Sox's fault. When Mulder is on his game, he's one of the better ground ball pitchers I've seen.... and Mulder's on his game tonight.

Of course, the Sox being DP prone doesn't help. Mulder has an ERA of about 2.27 career against the sox... around 1 ERA in the last two years.

BTW, I'm sure it's been said here, but Mulder is (or at least grew up) a die hard Sox fan.

Why dont the Sox try and throw Mulder off his game or use some of the many tactics that are available to at least score a run?

As much as I hate to admit it, this team flat out stinks.

The lineup never gets going and continues to scatter meaningless hits throughout the course of a game. The starting pitching is average at best, and when we do get quality starts, our hitters can't come close to helping out. They still can't play defense or run the bases.

I don't foresee this team winning anything this year, with or without player trades or managerial moves. Hopefully they'll prove me wrong.
