Cannot be disputed.

The Sox should end up in the World Series, according to Downey! Let's re-visit this column in September; should be good for a laugh!

Exactly, they've quit on him and Gary Ward hasn't had a positive impact at all and can't right the ship.

The Downey column made no sense. Saying that other teams that have gotten off to a bad start and still reached the World Series is not comforting. The simple fact is most teams who start slow, end up slow.

Wanting to see Manuel go is not personal. He is a decent guy. But since the beginning of 2001, the Sox have been a .500 club. He was good for the club when they were young, but it's not working well now. I wish Manuel the best. It is just time for him to go.

Agreed. When I read it this morning I thought "what the...??" Regardless of what other teams have done in the past, the Sox aren't other teams!!! Other teams know how to right the ship, while the Sox only fall deeper.

REad this article. Then read the MAriotti article. Then look at how quickly the sox have found themselves in major holes within an inning or two of the last 4-5 games.

It's time.

Downey said we Manuel critics should get a history lesson. How about this for history? In 1968, the Sox were 15-17 after 32 games and ended up in eighth place during the last year of one divisional play. In 1970, they were 15-17 after 32 games and finished with one of the worst years ever at 56-106. How is that for history, Mikey?
